As long as sponsor finance the incentives for creators/curators, they will manipulate the direction of the artist's content and work. Money talks loudly. Steemit allows the crypto-fluctuations to have a say in the value of a comment or vote, but it is the individual "steemer" that is still determining ultimate benefit through comment/vote volume on a post. Opening the door to ads is equivalent to destroying the initial intent of steemit, and by permitting conglomerate entities to sponsor posts is equivalent to changing the message and color of the writing on the walls while the voice of the small artists is diluted into oblivion.
