Bitcoin Has Been Moving Up But Where Do You See STEEM Going From Here?

in steem •  6 years ago

In the past few weeks Bitcoin has been rallying up towards what seems like $6000-$6400 levels where it dropped off causing the last 6 months of heartache for everyone.

It's quite possible that we'll retest those prices once again before any major consolidation. Atleast this is my expectation and largely prices have been moving in-line with that.

I'm betting big on Bitcoin in the long run and expect it to do fairly well in the next 2-3 years. But what concerns me off late is STEEM.

We've seen the prices tank in recent times fueled by constant sell pressure and lack of any major development leading the way.

As everyday users of the blockchain what is your expectation for the year ahead in terms of price? How low do you expect it to fall and how high do you feel it will go.

Lemme know in the comments below.

Steem is #60 now, something is very wrong. Who is selling?

It is very easy to take the price of STEEM down.

Just go to Binance and see how little the amount is you need to "move" the market.

You only need to buy a few Steem at a low bid price time and time again and price goes down by itself :-P

Same in upwards direction.

Possibly the big Steemit Witnesses and Steem holders are playing this game so they can buy in cheap at the bottom they have agreed amongst each other.

It’s been disappointing for a while now. Cheers mike

I'm actually seriously concerned about the price of steem. We have fallen to 58th place which is the lowest that we've ever been. EOS is supposedly about to come out with their meOS social media platform in June which is less than a month away, and people just don't seem to be interested in a blogging platform much anymore.
The whales are gone which is fine, but the community itself is dwindling and in a way that could be seen as a good thing because we are coming more close knit….but I fear that this community could vanish.
The price of the coin has gone down so far, and I've put a significant amount of money into this site… but more than that, I’ve put a very significant amount of time… probably something like 4 to 6 hours a day for more than 2 years. Extremely disheartening it is. I can only hope that things turn around soon because having faith is becoming difficult for all of us.

I think STEEM will be fine. I'm seeing a lot of new content, like trading card games and various gambling sites, some of which pay dividends. This may be old news to some, but I only discovered it recently. As each grow and new, more polished stuff appears the demand for STEEM wise rise, I think.

patience is needed as Steem is too good not to go up. It will happen and we are expecting too much too soon. Bitcoin will rally and it will drag everything else with it that has a proper usage. Steem is one of those so no panicking is required.

Price will go up only if there is demand, and demand will increase only if people find value in it, and that would not happen if people post shitty content.......so ultimately it boils down to the content only. Content is the king.

I don't know much so may be other factors also influence the STEEM.

I have posted about this but no one seems to be listening..... big move in Steem price coming real soon so long as no one of same size starts a power down the size of this one about to end!!
You can thank me after the 6th/7th of May when the price will start to climb if what I stated holds.

Hopefully

In about a month it'll be 3 yrs I have been involved with this platform. My faith in this project is being tested of late. Too many missed deliverables and changes in course while other chains seem to have many new features and projects.

Additionally, steem vs. BTC is just fractions from it's all time low.

It’s disappointing. I think a lot of us got hyped on SMTs.

What's wrong with SMTs? I only found about those recently. Did something happen or is it solid but oversold?

I totally agree with your points that STEEM is sleeping from a long time due to lack of developement and exciting news but I have a huge hope from SMT and I definitely gonna bring up trend in the Steem price.
Thank You :-)

I think people are cashing out to prepare for EOS and Tron, which promise to do what Steem does. Seeing Steem Monsters become Splinterlands and start accepting Tron is a sign of what’s to come.

People who moved in early on Steem are cashing out to move early on the other blockchains.

I think Steem is a good platform and has a lot to offer. However, its success serves as a prototype for others to emulate. I think speculators are looking for the next big thing and using their Steem to fund it.

What is the name of eos social media? I don't see anything written about it on their site. I keep hearing about tron and eos games but after checking them out they are nothing but a joke lol

There isn’t one yet. To clarify, the platform is designed to accommodate dapps at higher rates than ETH. Therefore, they expect developers to build out whatever they like.

When ETH kicked off, I bought some before any dapps were available. I let it sit and forgot about it. It was a nice windfall profit I had not intended.

Steem has taken a couple years to come this far. Moral of the story, it doesn’t take very long for these things to take off.

Many of the features of the Steem blockchain are being duplicated. Staking, interest, tokens, high transaction rates, a stable-ish token that can be exchanged for cash, and probably more that I don’t know about. It’s a matter of time.

Should i sell steem and buy eos?

I don’t know. That’s a very personal decision.

What I have done is bought EOS and TRX in advance to be prepared once those blockchains have something interesting. I am not taking out of Steem to go over there. I think we will likely see the rent seekers cash out and go. It would be bad for Steem in the short run. However, it would help stabilize the price once they are gone.

I do not understand the intricacies of blockchain. I approach this stuff through an Economics lens. I see Steem, Tron, and EOS as substitute goods, or at least they will be when those other blockchains get it together with their own social media. At that point, it will be like comparing potato chips once the novelty of a new product wears off.

My approach will be to be present on all of them. I think Steem has made mistakes and learned from them. The other blockchains still have mistakes to make and learn from. I think we can eat our cake and have three cakes too. I have no data or evidence to support my conclusions, just a vague sense of the rational actor present in all Economics arguments.

STEEM and BTC will go up in time.

Zero, before this autumn

Past few days I'm not having a great feeling for Steem. Often steem rose with Bitcoin. But this time its still down. Drug Wars was a good development but they disappointed by changing their rewards to something other than steem.

More sellers...people exiting their positions, powering down, getting out, etc...then buying, powering up, adding to positions and holdings. The anemic volume says everything. Till that changes, its going to be a mess.

Eventually Steem will catch fire . There are to many good things coming w/ Steem. I suspect good things over the next 2.5 years . I’ll need to check in on this comment then.

You know what happens when things catch on fire right?

They crash & burn ?

I've been wondering about this myself; I think Steem will go up, especially in light of what @kryptogames is doing with their gamer token. We'll just have to see.

I don’t understand why. Is it because the value of those tokens takes steem out of the market?

No one can be sure, but I would definitely have to say yes.

I think STEEM is a coin that takes some more weeks to follow BTC, so on the short term, I'm expecting a small jump in price, but later this year we will "boom" like BTC...

It seems totally confusing, and I'm definitely thinking something is making steem not rise with bitcoin, I'm feeling nobody knows yet
