Cryptocurrency Burning A Hole In My... Ummmm... Dashboard?

I did not join Steem because of the cryptocurency, I just want to move my support to open platforms. To be honest, I am not exactly a fan of the cryptos, not for average people like myself. I consider them a better investment than the stock market, where I have exactly zero dollars invested. They both strike me as too risky, I cannot afford to invest large sums of money and let it ride. I make my bills, but even a fairly small emergency has me dipping into savings before the savings ever gets very substantial. If I had money I felt comfortable putting in a slot machine, I would buy cryptos instead. The small amounts that I can afford to invest in a "buy and hold" strategy go to silver. I have occasionally had to sell, and due to long term cost averaging I have never lost money on silver. Your mileage may vary. It is not that I hate cryptos, it is that I have very little money to "play" with and never felt I could afford to buy in.

Well, facebook and youtube are just about more than I can support in good conscience these days, so I went shopping for social media. Josh Sigurdson has done a great job promoting Steemit, so here I am. And low and behold, look what I have on my dashboard... "Steem." I am still learning my way around here, and I do see the tabs on articles to pay the contributor. I am a cryptovirgin, never bought or sold a crypto-anything. Someone will be the recipient of my first crypto-tip... but I am a savvy enough virgin to want to have a little fun before I give it up... lol!
