Happy Steeming!
This is some Great news. I'm glad I joined while the price was significantly lower. I just checked coinmarketcap. STEEM up 17.89% and Bitcoin down 5.51% I feel really great about my investment decisions. You brought some great news!

yeah, unfortunately Steem has lost most of its gain by now, but hey, this is a long term game.

STEEM is a HODL for me. So it's cool as long as long term returns are good (which I'm betting on)

Only 5 coins are green at the moment and one of them is Tether. I actually sold my EOS to put into STEEM and I'm loving the decision. I just wish the community could be better. These flag wars are causing too much damage.

aha, yeah, EOS is in oversold territory so that could be good timing.
So whats the deal with flag wars, I havent paid attention?

Flag wars really come because STEEM lacks a clear constitution. Anybody can flag on disagreements and since rewards are involved these things get ugly. also there are demagogues who start and promote these wars because ego and/or profit. berniesanders and grupmycat are great examples of hypocritical warmongers. Their attacks aren't always unjustified but 99% of them are. Some great people producing quality content have left the platform because of those keyboard warriors of the reward pool. It's a long messy subject. But you can see some of the attitudes here: https://steemit.com/bitcoin/@rogerkver/bitcoin-cash-has-the-roadmap-that-lead-to-bitcoin-s-original-success-and-bitcoin-cash-has-the-roadmap-that-will-lead-to-bitcoin

Smart Media Tokens should increase demand for Steem as well. Smart Media Tokens will allow any existing community to bring the features of Steem online without having to use steemit.com

SMTs are what I'm most excited for. If they get released this year we could easily see at worst $20 for STEEM. Basically Thou shalt not power down.
