Over the course of a year, the steem blockchain has been evolving rapidly and going to a direction that I never about when I first joined the community. Initially, I have always thought that steem is limited to a blogging website where anyone can monetize their contents. Surprisingly, it is becoming a hub for entrepreneurs regardless of the kind of products that they offer.
Some are offering digital assets like art, game items, trade digital cards and many more. While some are also offering tangible commodities like the ones that @homesteaderscoop is offering. There are also brick-and-mortar business that are listed in the www.steemeconomy.com website which offers products in exchange of steem/sbd.
Although it hasn't made it to the masses, there are on-going effort to enlist steem to a much broader market. The one that I'm talking about is the initiative to integrate steem to Open Bazaar which is an open market any kind of products that utilize cryptocurrencies for transactions. This initiative is being led by @diggndeeper.com through the account @steemonob. If this initiative will take-off, it will bring steem to a higher level of use case and it will create an avenue for Steemian buyers & sellers who wish to use the peer-to-peer transactions.
Another good thing about this initiative is that we will be able to test the real potential of steem when it comes to transactional capacity. It is said that currently, steem is only utilizing a small fraction of its resources with the transactions that are happening in the steem blockchain.
Although there are great initiatives like @steembay and @homesteaderscoop that are trying to break-in to the e-commerce by using the power of the blockchain, their isn't that much traction that it produce. We need to expand to a point that steem should be accessible even to the people that belong to the lower bracket of the economy. We need to on-board the small business owners to utilize the steem blockchain as a "storage of value" and as a way to "transact" goods into crypto.
Let's involve the investors, producers, makers, and consumers into the steem blockchain. We have the technology but we lack the platform that can accomodate this expansion. At this point, getting it to Open Bazaar is the best option that we have.
At the end of the day, steem is still steem regardless to what platform it's being used. The more use cases that steem can cover, the more value it will gain. Let's make it happen.
Cheers!

Anyways steem is like social media all in one. As there are many platforms that together combined form great benefits to content creators as well as ordinary users. You can post any kind of media: video, image, sound, text.... plus everyone is paid upon their contribution, P.S no adds
YESS for open bazaar! Steem is perfect as transactions are instant and free! Thing with open bazaar is that people are already selling and buying there. Plus it is decentralzied, maybe not working the best as still there are some kind of middleman in terms of escrow but overall platform is decent. With steem being added it will open more doors for people to be introduced to it and enable more merchants to accept it. Which leads to steem being used more as a currency as well.
