Three sure things Steem competition doesn't have at the beginning are:
- a working product with a track record
- the user base, which is more than that, a community, with sub-communities
- a thriving ecosystem, growing exponentially
I don't think anyone involved with the Steem blockchain can say they know every corner of this ecosystem. It's that vast and that dynamic.
I learn of new tools and Dapps being built in the Steem ecosystem every day.
No exaggeration! Every single day.
It is true not all of them stand the test of time. Some don't even make it "out of the gate". But the idea was there. The initial spark was there. Someone else (or the same person/team) might pick it up later on, or another will come up with something even better.
Even now, with low Steem prices and a generally apathetic crypto market, you can see the energy and passion some put in. They are not few, but some are quiet, until they have something to show for their work.
It's not for no reason Steem was called the blockchain of opportunity. While it might be a slogan, for those understanding what both Steem and an opportunity mean, it is or becomes real.
When it comes to blogging or curating, unfortunately we see a clear correlation between the number of posts and comments and the price of Steem. Curation drops also with the market.
This is something that to me makes no sense. If you think Steem blockchain has a long term perspective, then you probably also envision a higher price of Steem compared to fiat in the future.
If you do that and you also know Steem accumulates through usage (posting, commenting, curating) and investing (power up and SP investing, for example). Then why don't you accumulate more Steem, regardless of its price compared to fiat? If you'd do that, and the bright perspectives become reality, you'd thank yourself later.
There is of course even another perspective: that you'd be able to buy more and more services and products using Steem and SBD directly.
As amazing as our Steem ecosystem is right now, I can only imagine how far we will be a year from now. Every day counts! Remember, new tools and Dapps rise in the ecosystem every day!
You lose a day feeling sorry for yourself, you may have lost a chance.
Very well written @gadrian.
This blockchain is one of my fav. Reason is I never seen any project like steem where they made this much of platforms or projects. Like the steemit where we spend hours of time to share our thoughts as well as learning new things.Every day new projects are building on steem.

Thank you @flash07! It's the perfect combination to draw many users. While we know many are here for the rewards, I believe there are also enough who merely love to write, and consider the rewards an added bonus. The community is what allows the ecosystem to thrive, without it regardless how good Steem is or would be, we wouldn't have such a high emulation of Dapps in the ecosystem.

Very nice post! And I have the same vision: accumulate Steen regardless of the price and hope for a nice future on this Blockchain.

Thanks! And yep, I agree, except I would put it more along the lines of plan for a nice future on this Blockchain.
