Today, exactly a year ago on 29-th January 2018 I got my Steemit account approved. I remember instantly writing long first post of my introduction that no one saw. Of course, I used all the wrong tags and so on 😀
I think about 2 months I wrote posts that barely got any views and upvotes. I was getting kind of tired of putting in the effort for nothing. I think this is one of the main reasons why newcomers quit. When I was about to lose interest in Steemit, fortunately, @curie came along and I got my first upvote of massive $50 and 500+ upvotes. This kind of brought my motivation back and I wanted to write and post photos again in hopes of getting this upvote again.
After that, I actually began to get some followers that sometimes read my posts. From that point, I have never felt like leaving the platform.

What I think of steemit ?
I came to Steemit to earn some money, like everybody. Whoever states otherwise is lying. I never thought of it as a quick money scheme. I knew that I have to be consistent and produce good content to be able to earn some upvotes. This is exactly what I tried to do.
For any newbie that might read this, I have bad news for you. Steemit is no source of great income. If you are here only for some nice money then quit now.
The only way I see you getting some daily huge upvotes is to be incredibly lucky and get a couple of whales to vote for your posts OR you need to have shitloads of money to invest to Steem so you can get some nice curation rewards and upvote yourself. Can you make a little extra ? Definitely! But you have to post consistently and only quality posts and even then it takes a long time.
BUT I'm still here. Even now that Steem ain't worth shit anymore and I lost all my initial investments when I bought 100Steem with 5 USD per token. Aside some over 2 weeks Curie upvotes I earn about ca 0.50$ per post and I am actually happy with it.
The real reason why I decided to stay is probably that I grew to like writing and sharing my photography and I have connected with some really awesome people here.
So back to the topic of what I really think of Steemit?
I think its great. There are some flaws that I'm not going to get into but overall I really like the concept and everything. If you really give a shit about anything else here than earning some big bucks then here is the place! I don't see myself posting content as I do to anywhere else.
So I'm not going anywhere from here nor am I cashing in all my Steem any time soon. If the price decides to fall even further then be it. As long as some people read my posts and I have content to share, I'm in. Of course, this is going to be a problem soon because I don't photograph as much as I write posts here. I usually write 1 post every workday evening, except some evening when I don't have time. Some posts are short, some are long like this. Personally, I think most of the people won't read my posts if they are that long. They are probably... yeah cool story, show me some photos. No hard feelings. No one can possibly have time to read through every single post every day. Unless you are at home and do anything other than grind Steemit feed all day. :D
Anyway enough talk. Congrats to me for 1 year Steemit annyversary, it has been fun and let's hope it doesn't stop!.
Nice post. Keep it up!
