The Steem Rush
Probably most of you recall the stories about the gold rush and how people from the USA left their homes and hit the road towards California in the pursuit of freedom and of course, gold. Also, you maybe heard about The Crypto Gold Rush and how people sold their houses, cars or even socks to buy Bitcoins or mining rigs in the hope that they will get rich as many did before them.
But, there’s a big chance that you weren’t part of any of these rushes because in that case, you would probably have a bunch of money and no reason to read a minnow’s post, but you are part of something else.
This is just a rant; I have no idea what I’m talking about here.
A Goddamn Gold Rush
I’ve seen people using all kinds of strategies to make a few bucks on Steem, from spamming ten posts a day, which could work if you’re called @allasyummyfood and @kpine has you in his autovoter or using bidbots to boost your rewards or even trying to blackmail people for upvotes as some questionable folks have done before. The idea is that I’ve seen it all and I came to a definite conclusion, this is the freaking gold rush, and everybody on the platform is trying to profit off this, which is not bad, just that the way some folks are doing maybe be harmful to others.
This rush got accentuated in December when SBD skyrocketed to over $10 and Steem was still at $1-2, that was such a shock to the system because everybody was making ten times more than usual and no one was expecting it to happen.
At that time you could see everybody posting more, people like @allasyummyfood going from one or two posts to as much as ten a day. I don’t have anything against her, I don’t know her, but her actions speak so freaking loud, it should be apparent to anyone that has eyes to watch. Now she’s back at posting less, around four times a day; I suppose mostly because SBD is at $4 and she lost @kpine’s support because she acted like a dumbfuck.
The point I’m trying to make is that everybody wants to make money on Steem, no matter for what reasons and the issue is that in this gold rush so many of them act like dumbfucks or even worse and forget about the community aspect of this platform.
Steem is a fucking social media after all, and as much as you would like to treat it just like an ROI machine and make more money it’s entirely based on community, and if one of us is shitting on the reward pool, the others have to suffer, and the effects of such things are seen every day.
Conclusion
The support I get from @Sndbox stops on June first, and one of my biggest fears right now is that I won’t be able to create something for myself until that happens. That I won’t be able to gain new supporters and I’ll go back to making pennies and to only know that’s possible, it’s killing me.
I’m trying to make the most out of my support and post five times a week to be able to maximize my rewards and change my life. In June I have my last exam, and I don’t know what’s going to happen after that or how much will I still make on Steem thus I want to have a backup plan, and that’s money, money made from writing here.
The issue is that I’m not a writer, I’m a guy who likes to speak out his mind, and this is a very convenient way of doing it, so writing for me doesn’t come off, but with time it does get easier with time. The thing is that I’m always pushing myself hard trying to accomplish everything I have on my plate and the problem is that sometimes I forget about the very principle of community I have mentioned above.
This last weekend I had a burnout, I was exhausted, sick and without any inspiration for writing and had no articles prepared for this week so yesterday I missed a day. I probably could’ve written something, but I wanted to take the day off, relax and rethink the whole matter, get fresh forces and come back even stronger.
I am blessed with having amazing followers that are always flooding (in a positive way) my posts with comments and lately, I wasn’t able to get back to them.
Now I’m back, bitches and hopefully, I’ll be more active in the comment section.

My advice is to go and get a job like every other student did/does and not be so bitter about other people's successes - it's not gonna get you far in life.
You are clueless about how hard @allasyummyfood has worked for the last 4 years to get where she is now. And who cares how often one posts? So what, she posted more one month and less the other? Maybe if you spent less time policing other people's posts and more time focusing on yourself - you would be in a much better position.
@allasyummyfood joined Steemit over a year and a half ago and has contributed massively to the community by spreading the word, bringing in new users, organising meet ups, speaking at Steem Fests, producing useful content to help newbies and much more. She recently became an official Steemit Ambassador and a full-time Steemian because she now wants to dedicate all of her time and make a decent living out of it.
Know your facts before you go badmouthing someone is my final advice to you. And good luck mate!
P.S. It's so easy to criticise whilst hiding behind a mask.

I don't need nor I want a job, they do not represent my lifestyle.
Everybody worked hard, and I do like what she did with her other blog, it looks professional, and I do bet she knows her industry, food. Yes, she's representing this community, she has a huge following, and she decided to post ten times a day which gives a bad example to other people and maybe minnows will start spamming ten posts a day because they may think it's good behavior.
I also know about her past accomplishments and she had it good, she was making more in post rewards at a time when Steem was at $1 and SBD at $10+ but she lost credibility, at least in my circle. Many of my friends, whale and dolphin friends that are also doing amazing things for the community nonstop do believe that she fucked up by posting so much at that time.
I don't hide behind any mask, feel free to check out my introduction post, or other posts where I show my face like this, this or this.

It actually makes me really sad to think you've dedicated time specifically to tearing down another member of the steemit community, especially @allasyummyfood. Perhaps you just want cash for this post, which is pretty ironic? I can see you’ve said you didn’t have inspiration to write anything decent, so perhaps you thought you would make a quick buck by shining your negative nonsense on someone else?
Either way, you’d said it now and since you've shared your opinion with us all, here's mine. Alla is the last person you should be showcasing here. I’m not just saying this because she’s a friend, which she is, but because I know all the hours she spends filming videos to try and produce worthy content for steemit. This isn't something I would consider to be worthy or good for you, no matter who you're picking to tear down.
Alla is actually very reason I joined this platform at all. Not just me either! She dedicates time to encouraging people to join steemit, and as it has already been said here, to arrange steemit meet ups. Sure, maybe she promotes her own posts sometimes, I've done it too and I can probably find you hundreds of others who have. Simply because then our posts, which we put a hell of a lot of time and effort into may I add, can be seen in the Hot list, and then hopefully liked by people who actually care to comment on our content.
Even though you've admitted you don't know anything about the person you've decided to publicly bully, let me tell you a couple things about Alla..
. Alla is now an official Steem Ambassador because of the hours she puts into steem on and offline. (Clearly some people don't think her posting a lot and promoting steem is a negative thing.)
Alla has also spent the last 4 years dedicating her time to building her reputation as an established chef, from which she now has 330k followers (and makes no money from those other channels may I add).
I took the time to read through some of your content before posting this. I even thought about writing a feature about you and all the other horrible posts I see from bitter people who are angry at the success of others, but then I realised a comment is already enough time wasted here.
You're actually not a bad writer. I saw your wrote a feature called ‘Fuck Excuses’. I think it’s time you took some of your own advice, buddy. It seems like you're looking for excuses as to why you might not be succeeding on steemit in the way you'd like. My top tip for you would be try and focus on having a more positive attitude towards yourself, others and life in general. Maybe it could take you places.

I said last weekend, that means Saturday and Sunday, the post was made on Thursday. I usually don't run out of inspiration, in fact, I have a word document of about 20-30 post ideas but as I said, I was exhausted that weekend thanks to a cold, lack of inspiration is not the reason I made this post. It's not about cash either; I could've made any other post and probably get paid similarly.
I said that I don't know her, I don't know who she is as a human being because we never talked before but that doesn't change anything. As well as I don't know her, I don't know @haejin (using this example only because we all heard of him) but that doesn't change his actions.
Thank you, I have to mention that I'm already succeeding on Steem, I accomplished my vision, and I'm doing even better than I thought I would, so it's not an excuse at all.
I do encourage you to write your post if you feel it's right as I did with this post.

I just think it's kind of invaluable content if you write a feature about something and someone you don't know? I could write a whole feature write now about Why Drinking Water Is Bad For You.. but I haven't done the research and it's something I don't know about. Some people could actually listen to what I say and use it as their only opinion on the subject.. which is kind of dangerous and i'm just spreading nonsense. I get you're just writing your opinion.. I just don't get what it's formed upon.
Perhaps there is a reason this post hasn't done as well as your other posts?
Just saying because i'm trying to help keep steemit a place with people spreading inspirational content as much as possible. There's plenty other platforms that are better for targeted abuse if that's a route you would prefer to go down.. Hope you get where I'm coming from..

I get your sentiment here, but it is a shame you had to pick on @allasyummyfood, because in my opinion, she doesn't deserve this. You did say you don't know much about her, so it seems a bit rash of you to jump on her without at least trying to find out more?
I personally have only known her for a few months, she's a chef, food blogger and a well established youtuber, and recently became a full time steemian and dtuber, so naturally it would also mean she'd be posting a lot more nowadays. I'd agree with you about her "raping the reward pool" if her content was actually shit, but I'm inclined to disagree here. Alla obviously put(s) a lot of effort into her videos and posts. Think about busting your ass on youtube for years with little to no compensation, and then finding a platform like steemit, where you finally feel like you're compensated more fairly, you'd be enthusiastic too, right?
And trust me, I know of at least 1 person that @kpine has on autovote, but takes advantage of it, quite a few of that person's posts are actually shitposts, and far more deserves to be named and shamed like this, than @allasyummyfood.
Anyway, I'm sorry to hear you had a burn out recently, I don't do as much as you do on Steemit, but I can relate a bit. I know we have a few mutual friends here on Steemit, and although I don't know your content well, I know enough to know that you give a lot of value to the community. I feel the same about @allasyummyfood, but you both just have very different strategies/paths on steemit. I hope you do well on steemit, but next time, if you really need to name and shame someone in this way, try to be 100% sure. All the best :)

Not about her, I don't know her, meaning I do not know who she is as a human being, what she acts and how she thinks, we never interacted before, but that doesn't change her actions at all. Yup, I know how that feels, I was on Youtube for about two months a few years ago and I made only $2 in that time, Steem is a golden nugget indeed.
Yes, I know other people that are abusing the platform and their supporters far more too, but the main reason I used her as an example is that it fits better with my point. She posted more on the pump and got paid better back then in post rewards, and she's posting less and getting paid less in post rewards even if the price of Steem is bigger.
Thank you, I just searched you, we do have some great Steemians as mutual friends. I do bet that she helps her community and she seems to be tight with some of you guys but her strategy was very flawed at that time, and that's all I wanted to point out, how some Steemians try to profit off Steem and she was a good example.

To be honest, yes she obviously has her "gang", as this post has shown, but I have to say that just because I am here does not necessarily mean I am one of them, I felt I had to comment, because you did say a few things that were uncalled for. You basically called her a dumb fuck, which is not cool.
I know you like to swear, trust me, so do I, but I don't understand why you had to do that instead of making your point in a more sensible manner. If anything, it's because you displayed (seemingly biased) hostility towards her, that I felt the need to comment (can't help it, I'm a libra :P).
Back to your point, I do see where you're coming from, but I just don't agree fully. I don't do things the same way she does on Steemit, but I do respect her for her achievements here. She tends to be more business minded and strategic, sure I'll give you that, but she is trying to make a living on here after all, so frankly, what's wrong with that? At least she does give back to the platform, in the best way she can. So I do disagree that she is the ideal candidate for the point you're trying to make. And if you truly were trying to educate her in the flaws of her strategy, do you think your post really would have made the best impression?
Although I'm still getting to know Alla, I do think she is a sensible person, so it is a shame you had to insult her to make a point (that is unfortunately what you did by calling her a dumbfuck). Of course, it has achieved this rather negative effect in the end. You insist she has much to learn from her non-ideal Steemit behaviour, but you did that by showing another aspect of non-ideal Steemit behaviour yourself.
Anyway thank you for replying, I respect that you did take the time to get back to everyone properly. I don't often get to debate anymore, so I appreciate the opportunity. All the best :)

The post is not about you; you are just an example to prove a point. I didn't intend to mention about you at first, but then I decided to do it.
Yes, I don't know you, we never talked so far, I don't know how you're thinking and what your ambitions are, but that doesn't make any difference. You did start posting way more in December on the pump, and you did have more supporters back then, and it does seem that you're either earning the same or less in post rewards now even if the price of Steem is higher.
Maybe you somehow just got more creative in that period, and it's all a coincidence but I don't think so, and I'm not the only one thinking this way. Also, all your friends are telling me how many things you have done for Steem and your community and how much you're promoting this platform. But all I see is you spending 56% of your votes on you and your friends and another 12% on big users that don't need your votes, instead of supporting the very community they mentioned about.
I don't want to be mean even if sometimes I may come off that way because I'm speaking my mind freely, but I do hope this post helps you because your Steem behavior is not all that perfect.

Unfortunately I had to spend few minutes of my valuable life time for reading your piece of horse crap article. @guyfawkes4-20 lost his inspiration to write posts, became measurable and decided to spread his negativity and gelousy here on steemit.
As you saying things about freedom I also taking my freedom to give my opinin about your article and actions. @guyfawkes4-20 had absolutely nothing to write about and and decided to win oscar-nomination for writing his hater post and to make some hype for himself on name of successful hardworking bloggers and earn some free steem dollars on spreading his negative energy here. What a strategy, wow congratulations. You don't know @allasyummyfood and hovewer decided to compromise person, including uzing open insult. So this is you acting like a real bumbfuck. Also what I realised. There are bunch of successful bloggers making tons of money here on steemit from across the globe. Most of them are male bloggers. Hovewer @guyfawkes4-20 out of everyone choose to huff femail blogger and feeling comfortable to use even offending term. Very "brave". You acting like a real big pusy. Every singe person here including @allasyummyfood can post how many ever times they want and feel for. @allasyummyfood was through the hell and spend years and years, hours and hours for hard and dedicated work, to build hereself on the level where she is now. Professional chef. Nobody helped her, absolutley on her own after 5 years of hard consistent work she became well known blogger. She is official face of Steemit and highly inspiration person, all here content is brilliant and valuable for community. She motivating people around the world with her story. She is example what person can achieve success and dream, if not scare and ready to apply consistent dedicated work. She truly deserve success, even just for the fact, what she being throug. She can post 5-10-20 times if she feel for and she have thousands of inspired fans and friends from all over world and it is their decision from heart to support her. As I already say @allasyummyfood deserved it and her content and blog articles bringing high value to community. @allasyummyfood is face of promo-steem. She promoted steemit from very beginning of platform launching. She was working for free and promoting Steemit platform in her free time, just from pure desire to help other people. She is amazing and beautiful as a human being. This is @allasyummyfoor, this is her personality and I know her well in person.
So my advice to you @guyfawkes4-20 go and get your sleep, stop being measurable hater, this not going to bring you anywhere, instead of other people actions, think about your own actions

I'm totally pro-freedom, and I do appreciate you leaving your opinion here.
I mentioned in the post that I did not have the inspiration to write on that weekend, mostly because I was exhausted thanks to a cold, but the post was made four days after that. I have plenty of inspiration, in fact, I do have a word document with 20-30 post titles, so this post was not made out of lack of inspiration but because I was trying to make a point.
Yes, I'm spreading negative energy here sometimes, I like to do that because the world is not fine and dandy all the time and using swear words is nothing special. I talked about @ned too, I even called him a moron, but he didn't seem to get offended, nor @dan who upvoted that very post. And btw, I didn't call her a dumbfuck; I just say that she acted like a dumbfuck which is a big difference.
I don't know @allasyummyfood; this means that I never talked to her before and I don't know what's on her mind, but her actions are the same regardless if I know or don't know her. Her gender has nothing to do with her actions; I don't know why you're even bringing that up. I agree with that, everybody can post as many times as they wish but that doesn't make it right.
I had a long journey too, I'm documenting, learning, improving myself for years now and that allows me to write the post I usually write, but I don't complain about the time I spent. I did it for hours every day, both online and offline by practicing stuff but I loved it, and I still do.
I'm not going to talk about her content, that's why I didn't even mention it because the value is subjective.
Maybe she did some things for Steem as I bet that everybody big did but that doesn't permit her to act like that. Besides this, a thing that I didn't even mention in the post because the primary intent of the post was not doxxing her, if she did so many things, why is she not supporting her community?
You say she's the face of Steemit, the face of #promo-steem, that means she's must be promoting Steem a lot. Why is she not supporting the people she is bringing here? By merely looking at her voting behavior 56% of her votes go towards her and her friends plus at least another 12% to big people that don't need her votes.
With my trail I have around 15k SP, it's not much, but I have created a Romanian community, we are over 100 now, and I'm trying to support all the new and undervalued quality Steemians from my country, I don't know if I can say the same about her, considering her voting behavior.

The rush is still alive man, more than ever especially in crypto.
One of my first articles was something very similar to this. Right now, everyone who is aware of crypto and its potential is rushing to get as much as possible.
A new boom might happen this year and with famous guys like mcafee saying bitcoin = 1M its normal for people to be excited, including us.
But you are right that particularly this crypto (steem) is mostly about sharing with other people, interacting, working together and keeping a positive vibe, and this needs to be taken into account indeed. I think this year we will see a number of new users unprecedented, so its up to us to maintain this place sane and to help the new generations of steemians when they arrive.
Cheers!

It is a rush, especially when all the mass media puts crypto in the spotlights, that's when the price pumps a lot. I think that most people involved in crypto for a while know that McAfee is just a Shiller and has no credibility but he's good at getting excited the new people, it happened to me too, lol.
Many new users will join, and most of them will drop out of Steem in less than a month because they won't get engaged with other people. The communities are what holds this place from not falling.

NB we may not agree with her posting strategy but she's doing well - she's a 'steem ambassador ' - although I'm not sure if that's a label you just give yourself or whether it comes from steemit inc.
In her defence - at least she's not anonymous! I mean, I can literally hold her to account in a public place because I know who she is. Unlike our 'cave troll'.

I'm glad I don't rely only on Steemit for my living, there's so much volatility and uncertainty with the values it's hard to balance things. I imagine things will slow down a lot on Steemit when SBD drops back to $1, it will be much harder to justify the time spent on here.

I know what you mean, it's crazy when you have to cash out, but you're waiting for a better price. I don't rely on Steem at the moment because I don't have expenses but this is my only income. To be honest, I don't think SBD will go to $1 anytime soon because it seems like those Korean people love it quite a lot. It happened many times that SBD had a bigger volume than Steem itself.
But if it goes down, yeah, many people will start engaging less.

Funny thing about the Gold Rush is that there were actually a lot of ways to make money then apart from mining gold. You could invest in companies, hell you could even make axes for the miners. That's something people still don't get about the blockchain, there are SO many opportunities here, which makes it so that you don't have to do anything stupid to have a share of the rewards.

I appreciate that a lot, thank you. That's a great point man; there are so many people that can profit off the blockchain. And the same happened with the tech, people from all kinds of industries got to make money from it.
