People don't read anymore, just Skimming these Articles!!! ⏳

Let's see the definition: Skimming - reading or glancing through quickly

How many articles are written every day come to be read? The answer is that we are just skimming them, not read them anymore.

Lately, I have noticed a tendency to scan articles and give "upvote" based on the first sentence of a post or on the basis of the suggestion of the phytography.

Additionally, we "upvote" the articles promoted by some distinguished members of our community, obviously hoping to accumulate a few cents. Not there are not goog enough, but there are so many other people who write very well.

But, in fact, what is the real stake of this community? I tell you, TO MAKE MONEY!

Waiting for your opinions, my fellow STEEMERS!

...depend on the subject of the article ...if it is something that interest me i would read it with attention ..if i was only curious i would read the beginning and skim thru ...some times i up vote but some other times i do not ..it depends...

You and me both!😉

Most of the time I forget to Upvote. 😂🤣

Wow, you really got it!!!!!!!! BRAVOOOOOO

Happy to serve =P

hahaha

first i look the foto 1s,
if ok the title, 3s, think
if ok, i open, search a quick summary, 10s
if ok, then i read everything and mostly upvote

Nice and honest. I like your style!

Congratulations @hebro!
Your post was mentioned in my hit parade in the following category:

With me I read everything what's inside the article. If I like, i upvote then resteem. Also write comments if I have something to say about the article and the author 😀💖

Thank you for your time!

My pleasure! 😀

I agree but that is society nowadays.. You have 15 secs to grab a persons attention.. On this site it tends to be that first sentence you see in the preview. Like you said, those with a following just get automatic money.. Just cause... BUT... from what I have read in content many of them deserve it.. You can tell who has put in alot of thought and who is just spamming...... Like for real, how many post can there be where someone says BITCOIN at 3K???? Ok ... then 20 mins later.. another.... then another.. say something different.. I think people see what is successful with the whales and try to copy it thinking.. Oh I'll make alot of money too this way.. nah.. doesnt or i hope it doesnt work that way

I agree. Thanks for yoyr comment!

I'd rather get 100 upvotes and 50 view,
than 50 upvotes and 100 views :)
Good writing will win out eventually. Big names start coasting, and lose followers. Hungry newcomers pick them up.
The needle returns to the start of the song, and we all sing along like before.

Yes, I agree that many of us are here for money ultimately. That's why we hope that the STEEM would preserve it's value. And one important (indeed the most important) factor, is the quality of the content in this platform. (although the effect maybe not so immediate compared to speculation in the market.)

I have an article on this (well, it's not too long. LOL)

"Where is the money on the Stemmit platform actually from?" -- Let me try to answer this question

I'm not going to read it, but the title looks good. Here, have an upvote ;)

Thanks for the reply! Very inspired!

Sometimes I'll skim an article and like the premise and that will get my upvote. I tend to skip over word walls entirely and prefer to read authors who have the sense to break it up into readable chunks (those will almost always get my upvote if the content is good too. Content is king by context is god.) I never got why people upvote without view though. I've gotten some posts that had 20 views and 86 upvotes, like c'mon now...

It's exactly my point!

Can't say I disagree with you. In the defense of the skimmer, though, it doesn't help that a lot of articles are massive in length. I think it's a skill all in its own to write well and to write concisely.

Good point!

I usually read the article before upvoting it, cant say about others.

Good for you!

I'll admit I don't understand the utility of Steem or see it lasting. Trust me I want Steem to do well. But I don't get why Steem has any value. I do read the steemit articles I actually find interesting. But I upvote articles that are popular in hopes to make a few cents.

Make sense!

Hello Hebro,

Yes, I would have to agree with you. It seems like priorities in this day and age have truly changed. Good article ... and yes, I read the whole thing before upvoting!

Peace,
multiverse

Really appreciate your honesty!

Somehow I agree. hehe

Not sure what you said there, I skimmed the article. Just kidding :) But you are right. I also do that especially with lower rep steemers. There is too much what I would call un-quality posts so sometimes it is better to just skim the article at first and if the text is good I return to the beginning.

At some point, all of us will do the same!

Good post and an interesting discussion! It is important to catch the attention of the intended audience but I find it equally important that the main body of a post reaches them as well!

Very good advice. Thank you!

That's right.
I agree with you.
I have a lot of feelings of burdening myself when I see so many articles coming up these days.
So I am wondering how I should be active in this community.

It depends on your POI!

I wonder when I see members upvote photo of Shit of dog 😷, and they liked it over 300, i think we must make this paltform a cleaner place for life culture art writing , make a clean money😄 😄, I 'm Sorry 😞😞, thank you hebro for this post.

Well, its time to pay those people telling us good things or giving us good, interesting, informative news or other stuff.

Its also consider as helping or giving service, by telling them those things that makes them feel good and be informed.

Of course we're not giving them the exact or accurate reward for we can't compute a real/accurate value.

If I say to you, "You're nice!" How much you gonna give me?
You'll just say, "Okay, I'll just give you a dollar, coz I feel good now."

We really don't make computation like giving a salary to a worker.

Is this not fantastic and awesome?

Good point of view.

and lets be honest... we all here for the money in the end....... if the value of steem went to zero and we made NOTHING.. and another website opened up paying out..... this place would die..

Hope it won't die!

I dont think it will.. as long as the amount of honest people are out there with good content out weighs the people doing what you said.. Just skimming.. UPVOTE... Comment... get the money... COPY THE CONTENT REPOST in own words and then Run... .. This community will be alright ..... Viva La Steem

Thanks man!

TL;DR

Let's make it short!

Hehe, I was joking of course. I liked the little traps you put in the article.

I hope that at least a part of Steemit will be something like Medium.com, where people looking for long, depth, serious contents.

making $ is for sure a motive but I have not found a better platform to allow me to create, express and share my opinion.
