I interview Frideric Prandecki, CEO of Bob's Repair

00:00- 05:50 Can you explain what your business consisted of before your choice to implement blockchain technology?

5:50- 07:30 How did you come to the conclusion that the Steem blockchain is the right fit for your application? How will this work since your ICO is using Ethereum and your token is technically an ERC20 token?

07:30- 08:00 Who can take part in this ICO and which coins you can use to take part?

08:00- 13:00 How will this be organized with contractors, do they need to be explicitly tied to Bob’s Repair? Can any contractor take advantage of Bob’s Repair platform?

13:00- 14:00 What sorts of benefits can the holders of your tokens expect to receive?

14:00- 15:00 What is the max supply of your tokens?

15:00- 15:45 When does your presale end and regular ICO begin?

15:45- 16:40 You are currently in the presale phase of your ICO with the regular sale coming up, what are the plans for the platform once the sale ends? Do you have plans for hiring more people to help with development?

16:40- 17:45 How will the platform work from the customer’s perspective?

17:45- 18:25 Do customers have to use your token to utilize the platform?

18:25- 19:10 How long until you’ll have an MVP?

19:10- 21:00 Do you have a vision for one day expanding beyond contractors and home repairs?

21:00- 22:15 How building you app on the Steem blockchain can prove incredibly beneficial for the ultimate growth of both Bob’s Repair and Steem and Steemit.

22:15- 25:53 Any last comments? Information you’d like the viewers to know? How to contact you? Find good info about the progress of the project?

Thanks for the interview with Bob's Repair. Very interesting model.

Like how you time the video for quick referencing.

beautifully written. thank you for sharing . really enjoyed reading it

One thing that Bob may want to look into, is also having local trade organisations participate. Their involvement would be very minimal, but very useful.

If you create a smart contract that allows them to add a signed record to the blockchain that effectively says that they vouch for that tradesperson in a particular set of disciplines until a certain (renewal) date, that would allow your application, and your userbase, to be sure that their tradesperson is adequately licensed without having to check credentials that may be easy to forge or may be difficult for the layperson to grok.

Revocation could be handled using a similar record.

This does mean that there's influence from a third party, which does sound like a bit of centralisation, but it's a third party with a vested interest in generally keeping things legit, and having an independent third party vouch for safety, compliance and other certifications can't hurt consumer confidence.

Either way, it might add to the benefits you're providing your customers.

It'd be good to use an existing framework or create something general purpose for other folks looking to implement similar stuff in different areas or industries.

Happy to chat more about it if anyone's interested. Hit me up.

Cool! I was actually really curious about this one. So exciting that startups are building on Steem. Thanks for doing this interview, @heiditravels!

Thanks @heiditravels for updating us about the interview. It's a great post sir.

Thumbs up @heiditravels for the informative and great interview.

I like the part where he said that when he heard that steem has a real case scenario, no transaction fees and 3 seconds transaction time; it blew his mind and he came to the conclusion that steem is the right blockchain for Bobsrepair.

That's a plus for Steem

Awesome interview I must say. I see this becoming something massive and good.

More partnership and great news like this and we're gonna be getting more and more investors coming in to develop and grow their apps on steem.

Win win situation for everybody.

Happy Steeming

Would such a system have an arbitrator? There are some customers that scam the repair companies as well. How would that situation get resolved?

Both the contractors and customers are able to leave reviews about each other. And both will have an established reputation much like with Uber or here on Steemit. If your reputation is terrible you'll be less likely to find a contractor who is wiling to work with you.

That makes sense. How about the weight of the reputation vote? If it's going to be similar to steemit, then there will be similar wale wars.

Good idea I think immutable reviews is important, I hope you do take down homeadvisor if their allowing for people to buy and remove reviews.

Never heard of Bob's Repair before this interview but I'm really digging the application of blockchain technology for practical, real world use cases that can capture the attention of your average person ( and not just your average crypto maniac). Excited to see where this project goes in the future, thanks for sharing Heidi and Frideric!

cool man ! Frideric Prandecki is great man in blockchain really onspire us !
thanks for interview him!
i will building you app on the Steem blockchain can prove incredibly beneficial for the ultimate growth!

Heidi,
You do some great interviews and I really enjoyed this one. Gave me, a non coder, some hope that if I put my mind to it I can make a useful contribution to whatever I decide to put effort into.
You are one of the few people I actually recommend to others who I am introducing to crypto currency. Your short snippets on YouTube are very digestible and informative, without being too much to overwhelm those of us who dont know much about the space.
Thanks for what your doing.

ICOs everywhere :P
