Do you think that Steem should be more like Reddit? (UI) What would you change about Steem?

Although Steem has been around for a few years now, its still a very young platform in its baby shoes. After the big bitcoin spike and fall Steem had to let go many of its employees and now they dont have enough manpower to progress the site with the same speed as before. The site seems to be working fine as it is right now. The mathematical (magic behind the scenes) part is working. What im really currently talking about is the User Interface and how content gets delivered and presented to other Steemians.

Must say, I am a fairly new user to this site. When i go to make a post i think about the tags i should put under it. But what it seems like is that the the tagging system (tags) are blurry and not very concrete. A communty wont build itself around a tag like it builds in a subreddit in reddit. Thats what i think atleast. Correct me if im wrong please.

Would you imagine Steem working like Reddit? That there are concrete subreddits that you can browse and the best performing posts from each subreddit would show up on the front page? The whole system needs to be really easy and inviting to use. Currently it does not seem like i can subscribe or follow certain tags i like. I can browse one tag at a time or just search up a phrase. Also i think that there is not enough mainstream tags and its not easy enough to create and share new ones. (build a community of Steemians who share the same interest)

Do you agree or disagree? Is there anything else that you see evolving in the future on that part of the platform?
Would you take anything away or would you add something? If yes then what? Do you think that users should have more customizability (phew that was a hard word) how they experiance Steem?
