Focus on Thumbnails for More Votes & Comments

I am now of the opinion that thumbnail quality is the most under-emphasized aspect of blogging on Steem. People don’t talk about it that much but it is critical.

For a while I did not worry about thumbnails at all. I would use a few pre-made ones that fit some topics, like “Mindfulness” or “Drums.” Those were good at first but they got repetitive, and then a lot of my other posts had really shitty random/thumbnails besides.

Now I am trying to give every post a good, unique, and perfectly fitted thumbnail. Each one is original, no stock images.

It seems to be making a difference… I am getting more consistent comments now than I used to. It seems like most of my posts get at least 2-3 comments as opposed to many getting 0 before the thumbnail thing. I also feel more proud of my posts, the packaging seems much better now. Like if you’re scrolling through the feed, and you see my thumbnail image jumping out at you, that might make you click.

I’ve heard many uber-successful social media people talk about thumbnails. They sometimes say the thumbnail is as important as the content itself.

In the past I really ignored this aspect of my content. In retrospect it probably held me back from a lot of extra attention on my posts. I’m going to make this the main focus of my Steem “content enhancement” for the next month.

With great thumbnails comes great attention, or something like that.

its an extra use of your time too, so more effort, value put into the production of your post. You make a well rounded point!

For sure. Its like "look, im trying!" lol.

Good point. It all comes down to marketing and the overall look and feel of your post!

Indeed. Thumbnails make it feel great

I totally agree with this. Thumbnail has the power to make or break a good post.

Good advice, I'm going to use it right now in a minute! Liked this thumbnail btw
