I like the idea of Steem.
It'll work and probably end up having more users than Reddit, because it is easy to use, easy to subscribe, and easy – not to mention possible - to start earning money. There is no need to connect a bank account, hire an agent, or even have a history. As a matter of fact, you could start being famous here, even if you weren’t on any other blog or website before. Plus, by being famous here you earn money.
On the other hand, though, who stops anyone from plagiarizing? A user could hop on to NY Times, find the best article from the latest issue, and start earning money by publishing it unedited to Steem. No skills are needed, not even a lot of effort. Similarly, someone could post very original and interesting content, and another user could go ahead and copy the article, give it a snappier title, and capitalize on someone else’s effort. Not to mention so hated REPOST.
- see an article on hot
- wait a few days
- repost
- ?????
- Profit
Except, this time, profit isn’t a joke, so there is even more incentive to do it.
Steem Team, will at least this be moderated?
