Steem Blockchain has a lot of problems to solve before going crazy with the adoption. HF 20 solved a few of them yet there are many aspects left untouched. I know STINC is working towards to release SMTs as early as possible and I am damn sure it's gonna change the whole dynamics of the platform. Still there are some major problems that will require extra measures to be taken to solve them. Every investor, stakeholder, steem developer, DApp owner etc. who cares about the success of STEEM will have to contribute in order to help us reach the moon and beyond. Since STINC alone cannot solve everything, they need our support to succeed. After all it's a community effort and there is a reason this project is open-source. Anyone and everyone is welcomed to make or suggest improvements in the system.
We are past HF20 and creating accounts have never been so easy. With enough resource credits any individual or a DApp can claim accounts which can be used to create profiles for general users. A few days ago I used @steemhunt's sign up page - https://steemhunt.com/sign-up to create @hungrypb. It was done in seconds. But still a lot of STEEM apps need to adopt this strategy to onboard users.
Adoption of the blockchain can only be done if we all join hands and help more users sign up. If you do not have enough SP and thus RCs, you can direct potential users to sign up using this apps so that they can quickly get started.
Marketing done by Steemit Inc. is just not enough. They are a Blockchain Tech. company and you cannot expect them to focus most of their budget and resources to promote the Steem Message. In the past few months, we have seen @ned and team marketing the blochchain on Social Media websites like Facebook and Twitter. Hopefully they expand to other websites as well but we as regular Steemians should help them reach more people by liking, commenting, sharing or retweeting their latest updates all over the internet.
We need individual forces and Dapps to come with their own marketing plans so that overall effect is substantial. Do you know about #Promo-Steem and SteemBlast initiative by @timcliff. Please have a look and support these as they are constantly working towards promoting the blockchain online and offline. Network effect has the major impact and there is no better marketing than "Word of mouth".
For a newbie, Steem Blockchain can be very messy. You cannot expect from a musician or a painter to grasp the intricacies of the platform in a few days. It took me over 3 months just to understand what the hell is going on. Even till date, I do not know most of the things that are happening daily. It's that dynamic. I still have questions. There is not a single project which is focusing solely on educating people on Steem Blockchain and how it works. We need mentors to teach us how to become successful on the platform. How every system works in simple language.
Honestly, most of the successful people on the blockchain are software developers who understand the technical lingo properly. But for STEEM to reach the masses, we need something that simplify things for the general public. We do not want STEEM to be exclusive to a few people, it will not help its price. We need someone to create case studies of different niches for us which can also be shown to potential Steemians from the outside world.
According to me, if we resolve the above three problems, there is no stopping us. Onboarding of users will become very easy and retention rate will go up irrespective of the price of the token. (Secret: It will automatically get a boost if we solve the above problems)
@SteemOnboarding - This project kicked off 5 days ago, founded by two very famous Steemians with big hearts - @coruscate and @anomadsoul. They have already done so much for the blockchain and it is no surprise now that they have come up with this idea. They are addressing all the problems listed above. Even though the idea was cooked

@steemonboarding is the first coordinated effort to bring Steem to the masses with a concise marketing strategy. We will provide the tools for the community to sell the idea of Steem to potential users in an organized and focused way. Starting with 10 languages and looking to expand to more than 20, our team will work towards mass adoption. This project started around 2 months ago during the Steem Creators Conference that happened in Canada. But they launched last week to get feedback from many notable Steemains during the Steemfest. According to me it is the best strategy to move forward.

Mass adoption doesn't mean anything if people are going to leave as soon as they are on the platform. @SteemOnboarding will ensure that only serious or worthy users are going to use their sign up system. They will also provide pointers/tools and engagement ideas to everyone who access their website.
The Best Part - Steem Onboarding website is going to be a one stop platform for everyone to onboard potential users, educate and train them about the blockchain, crypto and steem system using short videos and other useful material. Note: MULTIPLE LANGUAGES. They have already started accepting applications for their translations and video teams.
You can read more about the project on their Intro post. I am writing this post to share my opinion on why this project is very important for the blockchain.
This is one of the most important projects launched in 2018. They have the plan to launch the first version of their website on January 15, 2019 with basic tutorial videos. Let's see how and why I think they are going to deliver what's promised:
- Roadmap: First of all, they have a very strong action plan and roadmap for 2018 and Q1, Q2 2019 which includes team setup, website launch, onboarding users service launch and marketing campaigns kick off. Dates are their for everyone to notice and the first major step has been taken already i.e. Project Annoucement.
- Team: If you have spent enough time on the blockchain, you know what @coruscate and @anomadsoul have been doing. I have never interacted with them myself but I notice them a lot. If you ever want to be a Steem Influencer, do something like they do. Together they are one of the strongest teams. They already have translators and video makers who know English, Spanish, Cantonese, Korean and Filipino. I am not sure who is doing their graphics, but they are amazing so that part is covered. I am sure team will grow in next couple of weeks. If you are interested, you can join them too.
- Network: Since both of them are renowned influencers on Steem, they have support of some of the top projects and other influencers. They pitched the idea and discussed about it with many folks during the SteemFest to get their feedback. Just look at the activity on their #IntroduceYourself post and calculate yourself.
- Investment: They have invested a sum of 10,000 SP for the project. Plus a 500 STEEM bounty for the first batch of video creators. When there is so much money involved, you know it's the real deal.
- Mindset: Steem on-boarding team will not bring any random person on the platform. They will take utmost care about the mindset of the onboarded user. This simply means that only serious candidates can get the account and attention from their team. They will ensure that people looking to make quick buck or abuse the platform are not involved. Also, every onboarded user will be connected with a community or DApp as per their skills and liking. This will also help other apps to get active and competent users.
I wish when I joined Steem last november, I had access to such a system that could help me get my account easily and also my way on the platform. I had a hard time finding communities that could help me or I could contribute to. Finally I found @Promo-Steem and @Oracle-D and I have been associated to them as an integral members since then. With @SteemOnboarding, that can happen for a new Steemian from the DAY ONE! I am really excited about this project and everyone on the blockhain should be as well. Although their marketing plan is not clear as of now but it would come out very soon and I am specifically very eager to see how it unfolds. All the very best to SOB Team!!!! Massive success to you. Massive success to STEEM.
Please support the project with lots of love, upvotes, delegations and donations. It's going to help the blockchain and ultimately help all of us who care about the platform. Cheers!
Note: @adollaraday & @steemonboarding have been added as 5% & 10% beneficiaries respectively in this blog using @steempeak.
Quite an amazing innovation by @coruscate and @anomadsoul. Am glad that despite the dwindling market prices of crypto, real stuffs as this are coming up and it is a true test of humanity on the steem blockchain. I see @Steem-onboarding as a project for every dedicated stemian and every valid community who dreams of SMTs. It is a project to reckon with.
I hope to have a great work work with @steem-onboarding

Thanks for this piece and for the beneficiary percentage my friend! Perhaps we can include Hindi for the next batch of languages!

Awesome. You are most welcome @anomadsoul. Adding Hindi would be amazing although English is fine as well for Indians who might be interested in Steem. So you can push adding Hindi to next to next batch.
