I have written a number of posts since I joined Steemit. I love to write about cars (my Porsche, Diablo, and Esprit so far) and real estate. I write unique content on every post and use my own pictures. However, my most popular posts are always about Steemit. I wrote one yesterday about passive income on Steemit and it blew my other posts away as far as interaction.

Why do people want to read post after post about Steemit?
Because almost all of us are here to figure out a new and intriguing way to make money.
Is everyone on Steemit to make money?
Not everyone's sole purpose is to make money on Steemit, but I don't see many people turning down the money either. A lot of people have blogs that don't make money, but they someday hope to be able to monetize it. With Steemit you can make money as soon as you start posting. One of the main points of Steemit is the content producers make the money, not just the creators of the site. The entire Steemit system is based on peoples desire for money, and that is okay.
Money can be an amazing thing if used for good. I have no problem with Steemit being about money as that is what drives most people. I also think money can buy happiness if used right.

Why does everyone want to read content about Steemit?
I tried to write most of my content about things other than Steemit because I see so many other posts about it. But people want more Steemit! They have a fever, and the only prescription is more Steem. Sorry for the overused SNL line. It is easy to see why people are obsessed with Steemit.
People are here to make money and they want to learn how to do that best. Most people are not here to look for interesting content. If you want to make money on Steemit, write about making money on Steemit. It is the same in other industries. You want to make money blogging, write about how to make money blogging. You want to make money on youtube, post content on making money on youtube. The people who made the most money during the gold rush were the ones selling supplies, not the ones chasing gold.
There are obviously other ways to make money on Steemit, but to get the most attention, write about what the people want. I will continue to write about cars and real estate, but I will write about Steemit as well. I like money, but I like to help others as well. If I can do both, awesome.
FYI I have met a ton of cool people here, and while money drives a lot of us, that doesn't mean awesome content about other topics is ignored.
I would love to hear thoughts on what you think.
I think because we are here, we share that one thing: we are all steemians. A lot of people look to make money, but I have started to figure that out, even if only a little. I think that I will just concentrate on a big array of different types of content. Throw it all at the wall, and see what sticks. Your post is cluing me in that I might write about #steemit though. I do not think I thought of that. Maybe if it is successful, I can write about buying a Diablo a little later in the year.....

I think you have to write about what you know and if you have been around Steemit a little while you can help others. I am not expecting to make enough to buy another Diablo, but who knows!

So I first speculated that upvotes for Steemit articles were a response to this being a supportive and positive community, and I still do.... but the more I think about it, the more the fanaticism about any positive news concerning Steemit reminds me of over the top religious communities. Ever been in an uber Christian community? Anyone who attributes their success, their health, or any shred of good fortune to God is praised for being an upstanding servant of God and a defender of the faith.... it's simply CONFIRMATION BIAS. They want so badly to believe they're right and will laud anyone or anything who helps them reaffirm the belief that they are.

Very interesting idea. I think there is a lot of that. Steemit is still very new and I don't think anyone knows how exactly it will turn out. The herd mentality is all over. Many people need to see others do it first and tell them it is good before they try. I wonder how a post on what is bad about Steemit would do.

Yes, I agree with you that a lot of people want to hear more about Steemit. That being said I have been Blogging full time for over 10 years now. I mix it up. But I mostly blog about non- Steemit things.
Here is my opinion on that : If we really want to grow this platform it is PARAMOUNT that we have a diverse subject matter with the Content.
There is just NO getting around that. That is if we want to continue to grow here with Steemit !
We need to recruit people who are Content producers. Who can attract more and more people who have interests in music, sports, news, politics pottery, fitness, cure for excessive ear wax.... well you get my drift ;)
We can't just have Bloggers who blog about Steemit. imho. It will just limit or Market.
I look forward to seeing more good Content from you on real estate an cars. Thanks @investfourmore :)

I have been blogging for 5 years and I agree! I still post mostly about other subjects, but it is interesting to see the interaction on these posts as opposed to others.

I am here for the cars haha and my goal is to post about what I do, but I also agree the most are here to make money. I would like to see more people post about their passion instead of what makes money. One it makes it more interesting posts and truth always wins.

Well I am here to make (mostly) car content, hopefully it will make enough money too make more and better content.
Good content will eventually get a larger following and the car community on Steemit will grow as a whole.
I totally see that if I wanted too just make money I could start writing about crypto and Steemit though!

Great post! It seems so obvious yet so easily overlooked or dismissed. When in doubt, write about the platform and/or your success/failure with it. Noted.
