Understanding What All Is At Stake!

in steem •  5 years ago

I'm on a roll today.

Guess I may come across a little too aggro at times.

But when it comes to those making decisions about things that affect all those people who don't have the luck in life to be at the right place at the right time, well, no, here watch this:

If you can please sleep on this.

It is something that can happen to ANY HARD WORKING PERSON OUT THERE.

& Steem has a lot to offer EVERYONE in this world.

Including the rich, including the poor and definitely to the "millennial generation" and to the "generation x" and to the next generations.

Steem has the potential to literally CHANGE THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT.

Maybe not all on its own, but it can be a MAJOR CONTRIBUTOR to the change that is needed.

I wrote a post not all that long ago, but yet, with all the noise out there, it has probably been lost or forgotten, so here it is again:

STEEM Can Become A World Revolution: We Can Change The World As We Know It!

I'm not going to beat around the bush here, straight to the points:

Did you know that over THREE BILLION PEOPLE LIVE ON LESS THAN $2.50 US a DAY?

?

Source ?

So prior to going any further.....

As if the above figures and facts are not alarming enough, here is a fact that should BLOW YOUR MIND AWAY!

OVER 80% OF THE WORLDS POPULATION LIVES ON LESS THAN $10 US PER DAY!

Not enough information to get your mind thinking, well, are you a parent, auntie, uncle, godmother, godfather?

Here is a fact that may get you thinking:

According to UNICEF, 22,000 children die each day due to poverty.

Personally, I can't stress enough how important it is to remember ALL of this, when making decisions that can affect the future of Steem as we have a historical opportunity with Steem. An opportunity to really make a REAL DIFFERENCE for humans all over the world who will definitely appreciate every cent they can earn.

I think that I will call it a day today as far as communications go, I am definitely not the happiest of campers out there. Yet I sincerely feel that I have absolutely no right to "complain", but I do believe that I have every right to express my views without being burned at the stake for them.

Yours truly,
@jackmiller

This is a good post and I am glad that @sgt-dan shared it on PYPT this week, for it is a message that needs to get out there, in my humble opinion. With the cost of medical care and other living costs today, yes, many hard-working people are one heart-attack away from disaster.

Indeed. Many times I think about how fortunate I am. By American standards I am considered below the median when it comes to income. Even so I have a roof over my head, food in my belly, able to pay monthly bills without struggling (given, I do live a very frugal life).

Your post is why I have invested a bit of money in STEEM of late. Because, like you, I believe greatly in this platform. I have seen the changes that have been made already in the the lives of people less fortunate than myself. I also look forward to seeing even more wonderful initiatives and following the existing initiatives that are making positive changes here on our planet.

Steem is marketed by many as a free speech platform. An alternative to the mainstream social media sites where one's content is decided by algorithms that filter certain topics.

Whether I agree with someone or not, I will fight for their right to be heard. Given I may downvote a post (does not happen often, I think I have only made a couple of down-votes in the close to two years I have been a member of STEEM).

I am proud to have you as my witness Jack, and I would fair to say on most STEEM related matters we are in full agreement. For what it is worth, thank you for everything you do for us on the blockchain. Your efforts do not go un-noticed. You will find that there are many much more influential people than myself that will tell you the same thing.

Steel sharpening steel. That is best we can do for each other. Some of us are not diplomatic types. No smoke, you are a large part of what is right and good on STEEM and I am proud to call you friend.

Thanks mate.

We can make a difference, each and every person has it in them to do good and to help make this world a better place for one and all.

That is the potential that I see Steem unleashing and once started, it can't be stopped!

In my opinion, it has already been unleashed. The momentum has just slowed a bit. Time for us to get together, grab our pom-poms and promote the good the STEEM Community has done, is doing, and the potential for good in the future!
