Hello everyone.
So I've spent a little time exploring Steem and it all sounds too good to be true but if you never give it a go you'll never know right, and there are much harder ways to make money with much higher barriers of entry than what Steem presents.
This post and my strategy then in getting involved in the Steem community is for the NON tech/nerd/cryptocurrency types out there like me, because that's the mass market and I feel if that market gets involved in Steem then this place is going to explode (more)!
Whilst I've loved reading about Steem and cryptocurrency here there's only so much of this I can read and that's not what the mass market reads when they open up Facebook... this place for me has also got to pass the ultimate test and that's me sending a link to my Dad and a). him understanding what this is all about, b). getting excited about it and taking the step to sign up and c). becoming an active member on Steem—these are by no means small steps and he, like the mass market, may miss the opportunity if all they see here are cryptocurrency and tech blogs..
So Dad, after you read this check out a couple more of the Steem/how to style articles, but more importantly, think of Steem not as a niche social network but an opportunity to carve out NON tech/nerd/cryptocurrency topics and followings that your friends and family can relate to and get involved in which just happens to have a great side benefit :)
My strategy then is simple, create content which appeals to broader interest groups in the mass market and show them that this is an opportunity where they can do similar—this will ultimately bring greater diversity, volume and ultimately value to the whole Steem community.
I'm really looking forward to helping grow the community :)
