The bear market is taking its toll on my vote value. With 4,000 steem power (taking into account my delegations), I get a vote worth $0.09
This got me thinking. It wasn't long ago that my vote power was worth a lot more and I had less steem power then. I remember making votes that were around $0.20 at one point, maybe more.
Future gazing
So let's step back a bit and think about the future. The steem blockchain has enough capital, both human and financial to see its way through this bear market.
The question is, what would my vote be worth at $100 steem? (Yes, I do believe that is possible)
Currently steem is just above $0.40, for it to reach $100, that would be a 250x gain. In the world of Crypto, that is not only possible, but most of us have witnessed that happen.
0.09 at 250x is $22.50!
Now, that would be an amazing value to vote on good content. As a steem holder, I would basically have the opportunity to give out more than $225 a day in rewards. The thought of that excites me!
But even at 0.09, being able to show appreciation for peoples work, directly with no middle man taking a cut is a very powerful tool indeed.
And if it does go to $100 a coin, which I think is likely, my steem account would be worth $600,000!
Yes, there are loads of risks, but where else could you realistically have that much upside and this much fun?
I have tried to steem on as if nothing has happened knowing that progress now will be worth a good deal in the future. It has also given me the opportunity to see people fall off and show the folks who are really in it for the long haul.
So, a dip, for me, is a good time to make good SP on posts, connect with folks who will support each other long term, and buy STEEM on the market with pennies.

Hi@kabir88. The vote value hasn't effected me really. I think I was too small anyway to see drastic changes so a drop from around 7 c to 5 and 6 c now. I have grown at a massive rate so i am keeping fairly stable.
I wrote a post once about staying stable with values from growth when everything is dropping around you. You don't notice the growth as much until it turns around.

I have had to decrease my content votes to generally 50% for most accounts except a few. My votes on comments have had to increase to in excess of 80% and is getting close to needing a 100% vote to beat the dust threshold. Some content votes also get a 100% vote when they are below the dust threshold payout.
So in practice, a few less votes on comments, a few less comments on post. When my vote is totally below the dust vote threshold anyway, I will go back to more votes, and more comments, since at that point it matters not what my vote value is.

I plan on trying to stick around. It is taking a little bit for the Market to recover, and I have only recently gotten to the point where some of my content was beginning to get a steady stream of votes from a coupe of curation trails, so low price has not significantly affected my account, other than the fact that back in Jan. I could give a much much bigger total value wise vote than I can today. But that will recover.

The multiplier effect of STEEM unfortunately works in both directions. When the price goes up, more people get interested and it pushes up demand for steem, increasing price.
We are now seeing the unwinding of that. Lots of inactive accounts and dropping demand for steem.
It will eventually level out I think. We just need a bit of patience and for those that can, some support to help steem on its way. To spread the word and guide people to this great place.

it worked, I hope it holds for you. The downvote has always been broken and there is no desire to fix it at all. One day there maybe, but not likely. It really is a shame too, since it would be a very easy thing to fix, at least the way I see it, but like the page views which every other web hosting, site seems to have resolved for unique views, it does not favor the few, so it will never be fixed.

Morning my friend, I do not have that much SP at the moment, so I do not really "feel" this drop as a voter. I do not receive a lot of upvotes so I too do not really notice these bearish times as a receiver.
Anyway, these days are great buy options.
100$ per Steem definitely is possible but it will take some time until we get there; probably more than three years.

I have been reflecting about the same recently as I recall the increase in vote balue after the Hard Fork 20 and it felt so fulfilling helping the community by distributing votes. It has kept me actively handing out votes with manual curation as I am currently following more accounts than I ever have before so the challenge is how to slice the pie as I continue to find myself below 90% voting power. The future is bright and we need to incentivize those that stay and ride this out!

The best time is to be first voter exactly at 15 mins.
But sometimes, as everybody knows that, it can be better to sacrifice some of the curation instant reward (the 25% of the vote value that goes back to you), for greater reward that comes from being earlier in the line of voters.
It's a great bit of game theory!

That day may come sooner than you think. If just a few of the seeds being planted now come to fruition. It could propel steem forward. Even if we just had DTube take 10% market share from YouTube, that would be ground breaking.
The more panicked and negative people get, the better I feel about the crypto market, it means we are getting closer to the bottom before the next bull run.
