Folks, I need your help as an uber newbie in the cryptomarket.
So I want to buy steem, but I dont have any kind of exchange account. I press the buy steem button in the menu on the side. I automatically get redirected to the blocktrades.us site.
I receive a code with also a QR code...
So now what do I do???
Update: 3 helpfull Steemians @positivebalances @coolbowser @willtak recommended coinbase to me, I made myself an account and transferred BTC to steem

The only way to buy steem is with another crypto. So you’ll have to set up an account with an exchange. Coinbase is probably easiest. Then once you have your coin on coinbase you use BlockTrades to transfer it to steem.

Make an account on Gemini (my preference) or Coinbase (much easier for newcomers) first, because thats gonna be a whole process by itself. Your gonna have to enter in some personal info and link up your bank account to begin purchasing Bitcoin or Ethereum, which I can teach you later how to turn into Steem... I do use blocktrades.us, they are very trustworthy, to obtain more Steem with the other cryptos that I hold

Lots of aggression here. My country Sint Maarten doesnt allow to sell or buy on this site.
VPN changing doesnt work. Will have to go to the French side or to Holland in 2 weeks to purchase

Best way is to buy bitcoin from blockchain.info or coinbase. Then use that bitcoin to buy steem.
When you send the bitcoin to your steem account, it will ask you for the address. Thats when you type in the 'code' :)

Easy it is..
Only thing is my country doesnt accept the traffic because we are such an illegal place (same as ordering stuff online, nobody believes we are real people en not some money laundering system),
And so I have to buy and sell over a VPN or drive to the French side.
Such a hassle, but hey Im in the game .. yeah!
