Help me to understand Steem. Removing votes

in steem •  7 years ago

So I have a general idea how steem works.
What I am not understanding is people who vote your post and then a few days later remove the vote thus reducing the payout.

This kind of reduces motivation too post for new people like me.

I feel this is something that should not be done out of courtesy and respect.

What are the benefits to doing this and why do people do this?

A person's voting power is diluted as they vote more in a day. So If someone votes for your article and nothing else, their vote will be one of full power but if they vote for a hundred other things in the same day, their vote will be watered-down to near worthlessness.

This is what I found about it. It's really annoying tho. I lost close to $150 in the last 7 days, because of this, but we still get paid for using social media. :)

Hm, I think it should not be allowed to affect existing votes but only future votes. That would be fair, what do you think?

That would be better for minnows for sure, but I guess there are many other things behind it. The devs are doing a fantastic job anyways and I'm sure if there was a better way to do it, they would do it that way.
