Hey guys,
I am sorry for the delay. Guess I can't post any experiments because of the vacation. I didn't take that into account. But how about a series of fun facts this week?
I guess I can start with a very fierce fun fact to make it even with you guys.
So lets start with magnesium. We all know what happens when we ignite a strip of magnesium. It burns very very bright. But what if I say that we can make it even brighter ;).
In the picture above we can see what it looks like when we ignite a magnesium strip. It looks very pretty.
But the fun fact here is that it will burn brighter if we add water to the strip while it is burning. The reaction produces hydrogen gas (H2), which can cause the fire the burn more fiercely.
