I replied on a post today by @overkillcoin and he remarked back to me about a new STEEM Wallet and STEEM debit card.

I was intrigued. I did not know that a new STEEM wallet was available since I store all my STEEM on Steemit.com so I can take advantage of the STEEM Power and delegation it offers.

STEEM POWER that I mostly have delegated to Minnowbooster.net To be frank I never considered storing my STEEM in a wallet due to the benefits of the STEEMit ecosystem that includes MinnowBooster.

The Freewallet.org STEEM Wallet

Well it seems there is for now just the one STEEM wallet fromFreewallet.org

Just keep in mind there is a risk to using mobile wallets for any crypto, well for any app of any kind for that matter. Just like with anything holding value if someone wants to take it they will find a way to do just that. As reported in this post about Media Service Cell Phone Hack

Now the reviews on the wallet are somewhat mixed with a relatively low 3.8 rating out of a meager 243 downloads.

Lots of unfavourable comments on the app in the Google app store so I don't think this partiular wallet is for me. But if you feel the need to store your STEEM off the Steemit.com app then this looks like the only choice you may have outside of an exchange wallet.

Personally I will keep my STEEM stored on Steemit and continue to mine SBD via delegation.

Now lets look at the STEEM Debit Card.

The STEEM Debit card is a "Coming Soon" product and from what I can see is not yet released.

According to STEEM Debit Card this card will work anywhere the VISA credit ards are accepted,including any ATM machine.



Now looking back at the first part of the post about the Freewallet.org STEEM Wallet, this STEEM Debit card also comes with a STEEM Wallet that is tied directly to the STEEM Debit card. It also has a Smartphone app that works on iOS and Android as well as a windows version giving you full control over your STEEM.

Fees at the time of development may have looked relatively cheap but in the recent few weeks the price of STEEM has risen dramatically making these associated fees seem a bit pricey.

Well either way you look at it you have about 4 choices for STEEM storage.

1. Steemit.com where it can be used in delegation AKA Mining SBD
2. Freewallet.org's rather unfavorable Free Wallet
3. The STEEM Debit card w/ a Wallet and an app to manage your STEEM.
4. Any of the many exchanges around the world.
