So I bought some steel cased 5.56 rounds a while back. I have not shot them yet, but I am curious and would like to shoot them. Does anyone have thoughts on steel cased rounds? They are also a lot cheap to buy and I don't reload.... attached is pictures of the rounds. Thanks for the help.

I have shot steel cased ammo through my ARs without any problems. It wasn't much but it worked just fine.
I think the most common problem with Tulammo is it's very dirty burning powder and you'll have more feed and ejections problems the longer you shoot it because the chamber tolerances are much less compared to an AK. You can run Tulammo all day through an AK with no problems.
Also I think the steel bullet jackets on Tulammo wear out the barrels a little faster than copper jackets but you need to be shooting several thousand rounds of steel jacket to notice.

I feel like shooting steel cased ammo is a lot like putting E-85 in your car, sure it is cheaper at the pump but is it really worth it in terms of increased wear and tear and decreased millage.
With that being said you can shoot steel case, but most of the primers/powers used in steel case rounds tend to burn dirtier and are more corrosive. Wear and tear on ejector is increased slightly, but the big thing is having a steel cased round when something bad happens, like a stove pipe jam. Brass is pretty soft and forgiving, steel is not.
If your are trying to shoot on a budget and are only going to shoot a couple hundred rounds a year, by all means shoot steel case. If you're shooting more than that I would spend the extra money on brass while ammo is still cheap.
