HOW FASHION CONSCIOUS ARE YOU ?

Yes, you may follow the latest trends. But does that make you fashion conscious?
Do you know where your clothes are made of, and what the textile industry is doing to our environment?

Today's textile industry is responsible for 25% toxic pesticides used worldwide.
This project is inspired by the well-being of our planet. The ocean is full of toxic waste, polar ice caps are melting and the polar bear is going extinct.

My vegetable fur is inspired by the thermoregulatory fur of a polar bear! This is called "biomimicry”.
Biomimicry has given me insight into the way plants and animals adapt to extreme temperatures.

With this project I want to create sustainable natural clothing designs, which regulates the heat around the body and will protect against cold temperatures.
As with the polar bear.

Besides the development of clothing to keep people warm, I want to offer an alternative to the current environmentally unfriendly textile industry. And against the suffering of animals in the fur industry
My design is made of 100% biodegradable materials, including hemp fiber. Yes, you read that right: clothing made of CANNABIS!

In my opinion we are all responsible for the well being of our planet.
With the shocking information from our current deconstructive textile industry, I have deliberately chosen as a future fashion designer to do something about it. As a designer of the future, I want to contribute to more sustainable practices for people and the environment.
