A few days ago, the Steem blockchain surpassed the million account milestone. In my opinion, this is a HUGE deal because it represents true real-world adoption of blockchain technology.
Also, as I discuss in this video, going from 0-1 million is much, much harder than going from 1 million to 2 million, or 2 million to 5 million. This means that the sky is really the limit now as we could expect to witness exponential growth of Steem.
DISCLAIMER: This is NOT financial advice. I am just offering my opinions. I am not responsible for any investment decisions that you choose to make.

We finally reached this milestone everyone spoke about. However, when I started to think about your video and 1 million users on steemit platform, everyone thinks mostly about real people, one account mans one person, right? Look at the FACEWHAT with 5 billion mostly real people, one person means one account. Then I think about bots and spammers. I always look at these things more realistically, even if reality hurst. We probably won’t know the exact number of real people on this platform. For sure, it’s lower. Increasingly I see more and more people with multiple accounts. When I opened Steemit account, I had to use my phone number to get confirmation #. Now, you can pay just a few bucks to get multiple accounts without the need of your phone #. I can understand some people using two accounts for security reasons. You can have funds in one account and post, comment, blog...with the other, or use one account for one subject and the other for another.
When it comes to transaction speed that’s where Steem completely outperforms everyone else combined. Bitcoin may be the most popular crypto but transaction speed is falling behind many of the other cryptos on the market. There are many cryptos focusing on improving their transaction speed and because of this, they are becoming more and more successful. For instance BTS, EOS or Steem in a matter of few seconds. Still bitcoin is bitcoin, no one can take it from it. Because of your today’s video I actuals found out of curiosity this interesting article
https://www.abitgreedy.com/transaction-speed/ it looks like it’s up to date. But if you want to take a look at it and let me know if that’s correct. I do find it interesting though.

If the LN is finished that year the post might need a lot of editing ;)
Apparently each LN channel can do 500 tps each!

Once again I would like to say thanks for bringing this great news for people who didn't hear about it before (like me) :-)
Steem has really paved the way a for the whole cryptosphere by literally writing the book on how to bring real world adoption in the world of cryptocurrencies. Not to mention the fact the transaction times on the blockchain are some the fastest out there and that it is totally free. The people are paid back not in dollars but steem, which allows them to actually have a stake in the ecosystem and not just mere profits. The more stake you have in the in system, the more you work to see it grow.
That means that not only people posting on the platform are incentivized to add quality content but they are also incentivized to keep doing so from a long term perspective. Bringing into existence a Harmonic growth system.

Just like you said it, Steem blockchain is a great example of blockchain adoption and use of it.
For a long time, it had more transactions than all the other cryptocurrencies combined (in 24 hour period, I think), which is remarkable.
I don't know why people don't recognize that yet.
It is so undervalued sitting at that 29th position, while it is proven that it has a great product which actually works.
Not like IOTA for example.
It is ranked so high only based on idea, and not a working product.
Hopefully, people recognize that and put Steem where it should be... In the top10 for sure.

The truth is that Steem (and it's primary website - steemit.com) represent an evolution in not only technology, but also money, human interaction and society itself.
This is truly great news. The activation of 1 million accounts on the blockchain shows that Steem is been highly adopted. It is crystal that this is just the beginning. Soon we’ll shoot to 100 million as this the the best use-case we’ll find anywhere

As they say in American football when going on a final drive to win the game "The first first-down is the hardest".
I feel like we only just got that first-down and still have the whole length of the field to go.

1 million steem account is a huge deal. It's not easy to surpass the 1 million steem account milestone. Steemit is the best crypto based platform I have ever seen. It's a dream come true for me to be able to learn so much from this platform, all the information we get the things we learn and on top of the we also get rewarded for spending time on steemit.
I hope it gets to the milestone of 2 million and then 5 million and so on untill everyone is on steemit. Here is a link to my post where I won a contest of 10 SBD.

This is a milestone for steemit and this is just the beginning
This is a prove of mass adoption of the steemblockchain. This is just a tip of an iceberg
The number was 600k plus when I joined in January so actually there’s been 400k plus registered after my account’s registration. This is amazing

I really hope airdrops that using zappl and steemit to promote token distribution. As twitter has started banning accounts that advertises airdrops. It will bring new members into zappl platform.

Yes, I believe Facebook and other social media had something like just a few hundred thousand accounts the first year in existence. It was not until later into year two before it started getting millions of accounts. It was until the years 3-5 is when the real big adoption starting happening. If Steem can successful roll out SMTs and communities that would solve nearly all the problems faced with Steem today, which would open the path 10's of millions of new accounts. Fingers crossed

Mass adoption is evidently enroute I must say, this is quite a milestone indeed. I project steemit at at least 4 - 5 million users before the year runs out . { IMO }

For so over two years of existence, steemit records it’s 1m users recently . This is basically a good sign . The larger the people comes in , the larger the number of investors . This is just a taste of what to come frankly speaking . It’s worth a celebration my friends .
Cheers to a brighter future, cheers to mass adoption, cheers to promosteem

This may be a wish cast on a star but I hope that with a rapidly increasing amount of new users will drastically increase the burning of SBD thereby increasing its value. In hopes of boosting my posts I already burned all my SBD to promote posts. This unfortunately was mistake but with everyones collective actions of burning SBD hopefully can increase its value. I've read a couple of postings that say one must burn close to $1k USD to promote to trending.

I had read a similar topic where they were somewhat pessimistic because of that million accounts only 60% of them were active.
It is wonderful to think about this, the community is growing more and more, but we must do some kind of introductory so that all these new people stay with us.

1 million is a nice number but...
only 60K are active. Out the 60K many are bots.
I say 50K are not bots.
In the 50K are multiple account users
I give my estimate around 40K actual users

You're right @louisthomas. The world is adopting the blockchain tech.I won't be surprised if common social media app like Facebook started using STEEM because I can sense it's the next biggest thing in the crypto world. A lot of people (including me) has quit social media because of the blockchain tech and as people keep trooping, STEEM gets more value.

I’ve noticed an increased number of bot accounts starting to follow me recently. I don’t know what’s the point in it for them. But it makes Steemit kinda meh... As long as we keep the real organic interactions going, it still makes sense to be here.

Here's the thing for Mass adoption to be adopted by the masses there has to be no limit on content posting whereas at the moment it is only acceptable to the network to have quality content because most people are not content creators in that particular sense they will not adopt the platform when the platform opens the doors to communication between cinders as do most other social media and acts as though it wants the data rather than that is is a standing in judgement of the data then the masses will adopt in droves otherwise it will be a slow Trickle of people who think that they can actually succeed on this platform or those who have some other motive for posting in an indelible fashion

Steemit is a great stream of revenue. It has been my ONLY revenue stream for nearly a year now and has allowed me to put money aside, pay my expenses and invest. Haven't made a ton, but more than I've been able to generate from my creative content in the past, and now I'm a full MInnow. All in under a year.

In broad terms, we need options which are not contingent upon a single point of failure or have a single point of control.
Right now, I believe people are beginning to really understand the serious problems presented when our Social Media interactions are allowed to be tracked and chocked through a single entity (Twitter, Facebook, Google, etc...), who up until this point, have been able to establish a virtual monopoly due to their physical infrastructure which enables mass Data Storage.
Enter the Blockchain. To be honest, I didn't join Steemit so much because I was totally sold on Steemit. Rather, I joined because, firstly, ALL my accounts are censored and suppressed on traditional SM sites, and secondly, I believe the Blockchain is the best viable option.
Whether it is specifically Steemit, or another platform built on the Blockchain, this is yet to be determined.
But this is where I am coming from and this is what brought me here so far...maybe my story is similar to others new to this platform.
