$2,525.71 in cash deposits later--Is Steemit a Scam?

Steemit is a scam.

We're seeing these posts regularly.  Could Steemit be a scam?

I don't know.

I'm really not that smart.

Steem is my first foray into the cryptocurrency world.  I knew what Bitcoin was before I joined.  I've never invested in it before.  I now have owned bitcoin for a few minutes in order to sell it to get cash.

According to Coinbase, it ain't a Scam

Checking my withdrawals on coinbase I have so far I have deposited in my checking account, in US dollars, $2,525.71.

$2,525.71

Cash.

  • I paid for a new starter for my car with it.
  • My daughter and I went to the movies.  We got the LARGE popcorn without a second thought. Thank you very much!
  • That is nearly my take home pay for a month.

I have never put my own money into this

In order for something to be a scam or a ponzi scheme, I think I have to actually give the person scamming me money, or possibly my back account number.

I've given Steemit neither one of those things.

I still don't know how this completely works

I've been reading as much as I can about Steem and cryptocurrency.  I think I am catching myself up.

But I admit what I am really feeling is, "Can this really be happening?"

And I wonder if that is where the feeling of being scammed comes from.

The world is tough.  We have been treated poorly.

This what we were told:

  • our jobs would satisfy us financially and emotionally,
  • buying a house was a very smart move, because housing always goes up
  • going to college and the debt with with it was a good investment.

We all know how that went.

So Steemit HAS to be a scam.  It just has to be. That's how the world works.

With all that has gone wrong since 2008 we just aren't programmed to believe that things could not only actually go right.

But they could turn your life around.

I admit.  I am still there.

I even wrote a post showing my first bank deposit from Steemit to prove to myself this was real.

I want to believe so bad.

But I have been hurt.

I am bruised.

I am mistrusting.

But I think I am beginning to believe

When Steemit has given me $2,525.71 in cash.

Then Please @dan and @ned SCAM Away

Le clickbait

But nice post though ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)/

I didnt get this payout by writing poor headlines. :)

My exact same feeling , but hey ... we are all in the same boat after all.
I think of it like that : If it IS a SCAM, that's it , what does not kill you makes you stronger but I do consider the alternative : If it really IS the next BIG thing ?
Steemit definitely deserve a try.

we know who is running it right ? ot can't be a scam or an overhyped thing since steemit isn't spreaded that much and quickly growing

Steemit provided a great opportunity for many people ! It is very cool! Nothing else matters! , @mctiller

Already flagged him. #steemitpolice

Thanks! I guess that means I'm doing something right when I get copied.

I think Steem is to here to stay, us Steemers just need more people joining every day. It's free to join and you get paid for doing what you are already doing on other social media sites, how can that be a scam. Scams normally work the other way, ie pay to join

Not a scam, just like other things, you have to be lucky, good or persistent, or, all of those. Otherwise, you're wasting just as much time as you would on facebook, twitter or reddit.

your in the same boat as the rest of us. Only a little beyond be lol because I can't figure out how to use the interfaces between, steemit and bitcoin or whatever, like the memo it gives me to use then when I try to do the transaction steem has one already there and I can't delete it and put the one bitcoin gave me in dee dee dee im dumber than you :(

The proof is in the pudding they say, the second I showed my dad how one of my posts could be worth $1 he started believing.

ROFL, well geez you are now part of this conspiracy; and profiting by it...
Congrats; ordinary people taking a chance of putting in some effort together and creating something new and different, welcome to the conspiracy.
Together we will conspire to make some serious gold as we continue to eat into the dividends being paid by other social media sites to their shareholders...

I don't fully understand it also but I feel like being part of this new endeavor is worth the risk. I've always wanted to get into crypto so why not now.

Steemit is not a scam. It has been proven repeatedly by multiple users all across the world. Congratulations on getting a nice cash out.

Pics or it didn't happen :)

Ha! I actually did a sceenshot post of my first $108.
