Ah yes... I distinctly remember forgetting that detail

More often that not when people complain about the distribution of stake, they seem to forget a the fact that as much as the system is not ideal, by any measure, they've also had a part to play on it. This is to say, that a lot of these accounts may be due to fear, or happenstance have been continuing the behaviors that made us arrive at this particular conundrum.

I happen to think that everyone is entitled to their opinion, of course. But, if one is to voice an opinion there should be standing behind it a concatenate series of events and decision that allow it some validity. In other words, to put this bluntly, if I was an obese man, me voicing my recommendations on dieting would be comical at best.

So, when we engage in these conversations, when we propose solutions, we must (imo of course) make sure that we are doing so, while at the same time being an example of said solution. If we don't do this, if we don't already represent our ideals through and through then we are effectively committing a sort of self boycott, as much as we might not be conscious of it at all.

I'm talking about this today with a tinge of seriousness, because I'm pretty much ready for the turmoil that is about to bubble to the surface on this platform. I remember it like it was years ago, but it's not even a year officially since it happened. When the market squeezed all it could from everyone, people jumped ship into poorly inflated rafts, and some of the big names began to attack themselves in a misguided attempt to find solutions.

When the market turned around, I'm sure plenty of them were sporting some social concerns, as words can't be taken back, specially on the immutable ledger.

So here, this weird somewhat cryptic philosophical rant you've encountered is nothing but a friendly caution, because I'm sure we are headed towards the same circumstance a whole year later, I can see, feel the tensions building already. However it is my hope that those that will engage in the discussions, the heated debates, find better tools to convey their positions for the sake of the platform if nothing else.

I often feel clueless when I read your posts about Steemit's internal politics. That is a good thing, in my opinion. My feed is full of people who are posting stuff about the world outside the internet.

someone call the fire department ...@meno just got burrrrneeeeedddddddd

hahahahaha should the professor and I start a tiny flag war?

professor just scorched you ...your tiny flag aint gonna do ish....

My flag is far tinier than yours, so you are certain to lose a tiny flag war. I recommend against provoking me any more, @meno. You will be buried in tiny flags. :)

hahahhahah perfect

if I was an obese man, me voicing my recommendations on dieting would be comical at best

I guess I won't be sharing dieting advice with you ....

get in muh belly!!

I know a little bit about it and what happened years ago, but it is obvious that there are problems or differences in the platform's internal policies, something I have heard about. But you are right in what you say, we should give an example of what we say, as they say in my country: He who has a tail of straw does not go near the sail'.

ooh I see, i think the right translation would be "candle" - hahaha i love the saying, i might use it one day.

hahahaha if the translator "hates" me sometimes

Have you encountered people here that propose a solution but isn't doing that? Wow. We need integrity, that means we have to do and act accordingly with what we are standing for.
