Steemers, GET READY FOR THE HOMESTEADERS! They're COMING!steemCreated with Sketch.

VIDEO BELOW
The last couple weeks, I have been letting my Youtube subscribers and facebook followers know about my move to Steemit. I have over 45k Youtube subscribers and over 100K Facebook followers. And we're just getting started. My audience is geared mostly toward Modern Homesteading.

As different segments of the web begin to learn and understand cryto-currencies and blockchain technology, we will continue to see these segments move in that direction. Social media giants like Youtube contain almost every interest category you can think up and little by little certain individuals are turning their followers and subscribers on to this strange new technology.

A couple weeks ago I made a video showing our disgust with Youtube over its haphazard censorship and regulation methods. I came out to my youtube subscribers that I was moving at least in part to Steemit as I saw it as currently the best alternative that would allow me to keep my video content free and still provide an income potential.

Email after email and PM after PM came in saying that others had also made a move to Steemit. That was really encouraging. What was even more encouraging is that I started to see lots of postings under the category of homesteading. These newly arrived participants were already contributing content...and a lot of it was really good! A lot of emails showed concern about not understanding how it all worked. Change can be scary. This will change with time.

My little piece of the world is all centered around off-grid homesteading. Modern homesteading. I've announced far and wide to my audience that we are making a jump to Steemit and really excited about the upcoming SteemQ video platform.

Youtube can keep their pop culture click bait TV programming. There is something new on the horizon and I'm curious enough to ride along and participate so that my segment of the homesteading world can continue to learn and grow.

So hey Steemians! WELCOME THE HOMESTEADERS!!

Very nice man, keep it up !

I dropped some answers in the comment section of your video.
Lots of new Steemit users wondering how to become a Steemian.

I invite you who are reading this to do the same if you have some time & some knowledge about Steem.

We are glad that you are coming here on Steemit . We have been enjoying the Homestead videos for the last few years and bought items and seeds from your store. We are waiting here and will up vote your videos. I enjoy Jaimeys recipies and canning and crafts . Keep it up!

We will be doing a lot of canning and the like coming up. The busy days of summer are ahead. AND LOOK! I just gave you 0.03 for your comment. FB and YT won't pay you for those. :)

wow, that's great - didn't realize you had attracted that many subs on youtube and facebook, although with your nearly 200 followers on steemit, you may already be earning more from your efforts here than both of those combined (not including your patreon, of course)! lol

@itchykitten is another fascinating homesteader who recently joined steemit.

also, you may have already seen this in the comments of my "YouTuber's Guide" post, but perhaps some of your fans will also find it helpful in understanding the difference between government FIAT currencies and crypto currencies such as bitcoin and STEEM:

And of course, the great part for current YouTubers is that they can still post videos to YouTube, then go on to embed their videos into a STEEMIT post and actually make a few bucks for their hard work.

Absolutely! Thanks for the info. We're soaking it up like a sponge.

I keep seeing people say, "Corporations will simply come to steemit, buy steem and then bury any content that they do not approve of". When that happens, if that happens. I would expect the value of steem to spike, making the regular people who have earned steem/bought steem already very wealthy. These users then should have the steem power to balance the dark side of the force. I could be way off track. I only learned of steem 3 days ago and have a rudimentary understanding of steem.

This is awesome! As a tip have people follow you and your topic. For example: https://steemit.com/created/homesteading

Then when others post have them post to that same topic. You can also create your own topic to make it a tighter community. Then as you guys post and comment as a group you are all earning Steem.

Awesome! Thanks for the info!

Thank you American Homestead for leading the way here. I have to be honest when I first saw your video on YouTube, "I didn't understand Steemit." No idea why I didn't get it.

Then DaddyKirbs on YouTube told me I had to check it out. And WOW! Y'all were right!!!

We are just a small channel at 9600 subs on YouTube. And have already seen things change monetized wise.

So THANK YOU! Thank you for leading the way here. I completely believe in cryptocurrency and that our nation (the smart ones of us at least) are heading this direction to gain more freedom and liberty.

Thank you again, I Upvoted!!! Now I actually need to learn what RESTEEMING is. hahaha!!! Take care and God Bless. :)

Glad you made the move over. To really grow, be sure to put your earnings into steem power for a while. That will help your future earning potential.

Farm and Adventure channel checking in!

Followed! Great to have you here!

Thanks Zach and Jamie! We love your channel and Sat nite show. We are homesteaders and home schoolers too. My YT channel is young and I really only started it for my CSA customers but hey, if others would like to learn from what we do then even better!

GREAT! Glad you are here! Will follow!

Followed too.

Thanks friend!

Hi and new follower.

Thanks. Followed back.

Hi from an Aussie suburban homesteader\prepper, following.

Im starting my move to steemit aswell from youtube. I made my first post here yesterday and AnAmericanhomestead was the first to reply to my post...Thanks! because of AnAmericanhomestead Im quickly finding that this community has great potential.

Yes it does have potential. SteemQ will be launching hopefully soon.

When it does, I will never add another vid to themtube.

Me too.

Themtube! Love it.

Hi and this site rocks, new follower.

Nice ! Welcome to Steemit.
Look forward to your posts o.o

I am interested in all things 'Off Grid' and 'Homesteading'. Is there a way to sub-categorise posts (Water, Heat, Shelter, Food, Waste Mgmt...)?

hi new follower.

I'm here ;)

Zach, Thanks for the invitation to join, just signed up looking forward to figuring this thing out. Best of luck to ya!

Hi new follower.

Thanks for your support! Glad to have you here!

Keep Posting :) Upvoted.

I am a steemer now thanks to your YouTube video. My channel is focused on modern gold prospecting in the California Sierras with lots of beautiful scenery for anyone out there who is interested. Still learning this new platform. Thanks!

Awesome. I totally followed you and will check out your content!

Are you looking for a new video hosting platform as well? Or, do you plan on keeping your videos all on YouTube?

I'm waiting for SteemQ

I had to go look that up LOL. It looks very interesting. Will you abandon YT altogether at that point or keep it as a means to point people over here?

Ok, now I have to know what SteemQ is. The 35 year old video nerd here is trying to learn some new things. haha!

Welcome to Steemit!

I hope you can build some stuff out of this book?

Hey Zach, got all signed up and followed you over from the Tube. Really enjoy what you stand for and how you guys live your lives. Just went out and checked on my Achocha, which I would have never known about without your videos. Take care.

That's great to hear! Thanks for following and be sure to post pictures of your achocha this summer! We love them!

I got a late start on my achocha this year. I sprouted them from seeds, then once they got 3 or 4 inches high, they died. Happened twice before I spotted the culprit. Fungus/Mold from the soil I had used. Leftover soil from last year. I have a property line behind my house with a fence and i am going to try and route them up that fence. If not, I may have to find a place for a trellis. I only have a little over an acre here, and being in south Alabama, most of it floods with just the simplest of rain storms.

I lost all faith in youtube (what little there was) when I saw them forcefully fabricating the number of views that Ron Paul videos were getting back in 2008 and 2012. It was hilarious.... like they thought nobody would notice or care or remember
Well, I remembered, and google to me is dying, as far as social media (and freedom of thought and speech) go.

Kudos to you and good luck!!!

I love me some homesteading. Welcome aboard the steemit train!

If you love homesteading, you've come to the right homestead. Thanks for watching!

I have some gardening -homesteading experience to share...hopefully my replies will be useful to others!

@ladykatryn gardening and homesteading are such expansive subjects, I'm sure that your input will be helpful. Post away.

I welcome them with open arms! This community is amazing.

I've followed you on YouTube for a long, long time and enjoy your and Jamie's videos so much. You really peeked my curiosity about Steemit and I thought I'd check it out. Wow, so confusing for this old fart but I'm gonna catch on. I even started my own little blog about off-grid life. Pease keep making these how to Steemit videos so your loyal followers can learn and continue sharing your families journey.

SteemQ is coming!

Glad to see this movement happening! Here to support you. Upvoted and resteemed.

This is what I found so attractive about crypto (and Steemit). It truly does level the playing field for the little people (or, if you prefer, minnows). I'm all for a homesteading tag. The term doesn't have to conjure images of a sod-roofed log cabin with an outhouse on the prairie any more.

Right! Modern Homesteading!

Exciting to see new communities pop up one after another, like mushrooms after rain!

Welcome to you and every homesteader. Followed and upvoted.

Hi from Oz and following.

I saw the love you got in your YouTube channel!

So glad to see this post.

Welcome! :)

THANKS for the welcome!

Well, here I am. You announced STEEMIT on the Saturday Morning Live show and I'm here. I may even create content here. Thanks Blake.,

Good stuff! Will be checkin in here more often. It took a couple times to get approved but worth it. The interface is confusing but it can only get better.
