This is how I explain the Power of the Business Model of Steem to Newbies in 2 Minutes, they never reject this...
Perhaps you might find it useful as well...
Facebook is valued at 400 Billion USD.
What is Facebook worth without users and with no content? ZERO.
So Facebook is worth 400 Billion because of its users and the content.
What happens if Steem has the same amount of users and content?
If you agree that Steem should be valued the same as Facebook than this would justify a 400 Billion MarketCap.If Steem pays 10% in new Steems to its content creators than this would mean 40 Billion in a year or more than a 100 Million per day.
Would you agree that while Facebook pays 0 and Steem a 100 Million per day all content creators would abandon Facebook andd ask their followers to sign up to Steem? In order to fight for their share of the cake?
Bitcoin makes electricity companies rich, Steem its content creators and in the process its investors who can sell their influence later on to the big marketing departments...
This is usually enough... people sign up and want to invest...
Cheers!

I think if you add all the different areas that Steem can cover it could be worth a few times the value of facebook... the monetary aspect is also huge of steem....

FB is worth 400 Billion and have 1.5 Billon users. One user is worth about 250$ then.
Of course someone is worth a few hundred thousends, but the majority is worth less then 1$ )
This 1$ user comes to Steemit, do you think he's worth 1000$ now ?)

Well, if that 1$ user realises that he can become a 1000$+ user by just sharing his values and ideas, dont you think it would give him the incentive to become said user. You are the one who is valuing the user by liking and sharing his content so if nobody finds the content valuable the use will stay as a 1$ user.
