1 month insight and experience with Steemvoter and return on investment since hardfolk 16!

Hi all, I would just like to discuss my insight and experience with Steemvoter.

First off, I would estimate that my curation rewards are about 4 steem a week for every 1000 Steem Power. I currently have nearly 17,000 Steem Power and my weekly curation reward is about 65 Steem.

Therefore, multiple by 52 weeks and that gives about 200 steem for every 1000 over the space of a year or a 20% return if one doesn't calculate the return on the accumulated amount.

Assuming the price of steem remains constant, unrealitic I know, that is a pretty good return in comparison to most investments where the bank base rate remains 0% for many western countries.

Now for my approach to who I decide to add or remove from Steemvoter.

I generally look for authors who consistently have a post worth more than maybe $8 or $10 and who are not upvoted by more than 100 or so curators. I have found that even if the post earns big but with over 200 upvotes my reward is often negligable. I try to aim for at least 0.1 to 0.15 steem for each vote.

I also remove authors who upload more than 2 posts a day as this will eat too much into my Voting Power. There are exceptions, however, if they consistently perform though.

I have also noticed that some authors can often go for 2 or 3 posts without giving me a reward of more than 0.03 or 0.04 and then, sddenly, payout big like 0.7 or so.

Consistently low performers who 'got lucky' to initially attract my attention will be removed ASAP to try to maintain my Voting Power.

I aim to maintain my Voting Power at about 50%. I am not sure why and would be interested if anyone has an insight into the negatives of going lower than this!

I'm only making around 2 Steem per week from 2500 SP using Steemvoter, but then I'm voting up friends rather than the big hitters. Curation earnings are related to the square of your SP, so you should expect to make a lot more than me from it

Thanks for that, I didn't realise they are the square. With that in mind, I'm currently looking for an entry point to upgrade my Steempower, maybe $0.12 or $0.13 if a lot of dumping takes place in the next 3 months because of the changes to Powering Down.

Just remember to upvote also authors of the content you like:) doing it all just for $ won't make steemit any better:)

Good point, I do a bit of that too but feel under less pressure to have to vote in a given time slot, as things are working in the background, so am more able to read at my leisure and enjoy the article.
