Microblogging on Steem

There are a lot of great authors on here that produce high quality content. Most users seem to target writing long thought-out posts several pages or paragraphs long. But what about smaller thoughts, ideas, or questions to the community? Do users posts need to be very long to get a point across or to begin a discussion?

I find I often have questions that the community could quickly answer and other users may find the discussion in the comments useful, but I avoid making the post due to having the perception that posts need to be much longer.

What are your thoughts?
