This is not only my first post, but also my first blog! My name is Travis (25) and I grew up in Las Vegas, NV during the breaking point of the 07-08 financial collapse. Having lived most my teenage years in the city of sin, I'm no stranger to the term 'wild wild west'. Witnessing countless hotel casinos be built and demolished time after time, shattered glass scattered as many half-built houses, offices, and complexes were set ablaze. But everything is fine, for now. From the moment you walk into a casino after smoldering 115-degree heat, the air conditioning gives a sense of revival. The mixed tobacco aroma in the air has your head in the clouds, and as you look up - there's actually clouds painted on the sky facade!
Instantly, you've been captured by God and Satan's steady hand. As you sip your frozen sugared alcoholic beverage or what have you, you begin to fade into an alternate reality. Your consciousness becomes conscious-less. And as you watch water dance and acrobats fly, the magicians disappear as fast as a rock band turned DJ. Ah, the glitz and glamour of a city built in the middle of the desert by mobsters. Welcome to Las Vegas!
