Nate's tips for new steemians

I'm still new here. This is my 600th post and I'm still learning. So I figured I'd pass along some knowledge that has helped me as I've learned the platform. There's some tips in here as well that have helped me. I'm speaking to myself as well, because these are tips for everyone.

Most people here are here to help. Some are here just to make a buck, and the system can definitely be manipulated to that end. But overall I've not found as many helpful, insightful people anywhere else.

Tip 1: Be helpful. It's worth it.

Everyone here on steem is an entrepreneur. Entrepreneurs see a need in the world and try to solve it. That's being helpful and it is rewarded well.

Tip 2: Be open minded.

You're here on the blockchain. I've said it a hundred times: we need to represent the best of social and moral progress. That's done by open mindedness. You can't make progress if you're not willing to change.

Tip 3: join @steembasicincome.

The money you invest there will pay off in three months with an upvoted daily post, and keep paying after that! Every three months, you get back that invested amount! Tip 4: Post regularly!

If you have followers, it's because they want to hear what you say. Don't disappoint.

Tip 5: Engage.

You're here. Act like you're here for a reason. It will be worth your time with a little perseverance. Engage in discussion. It'll help build a network (audience), develop your ideas, and reward you with activity and income.

All in all, these will help you. This is definitely not an exhaustive list, they're just the things that have helped me the most along the way. There are many lists like this one. Read them when you see them, because they are almost all helpful. Hope this helps on your quest through the steem community.
