Newbie Showcase, FREE STEEM Training and FREE STEEM Power Delegation #3

Win 50 SP in Delegation for 4 weeks by learning more about STEEM.

Last week I linked some free delegation for newbies with a training course about STEEM.  It took me a long time to understand how STEEM worked.  With SBD, STEEM, Voting Mana, Resource Credits, there is just so much to take in for a newbie.  That coupled with the RC problem new accounts have, I thought it would be a nice match to give free delegation to new accounts that have the hunger and want to learn about STEEM.  The aim of this is to aid with onboarding and help with retention.

As with all projects they tend to grow and develop, this project is no different. This is now the third week and uptake have not exactly been awesome. You will notice below I have changed things around a little. I have increased the amount of delegation from 20 SP to 50 SP and I have also increase the age limit to 1 year and steempower to be less than 250 to be eligible.

Rules for Entry

• You must own less than 200 SP and your account must be less than a year old

• You must complete this course (which is FREE)  https://www.udemy.com/understanding-the-steem-blockchain-economy/

• When you complete the course, you must DM me on Udemy with your STEEM account name

What You Will Learn

this course is a non scammy, non get rick quick, factual resource to fast track what you need to understand about the financial workings of STEEM.  With this course you can learn in an hour what took me months to understand.

On complete this course you will have a deeper understanding of:

- STEEM and its role in the blockchain.

- SBD and its role in the blockchain

- STEEM Power and its role in the blockchain

- Voting mana and its role in the blockchain

- Resource Credits and their role in the blockchain

In addition to this you will learn how to use tools like the internal exchange, resource credit checkers, voting mana simulators and much more.

What You Will Get

50 SP Delegation for 4 weeks

This will get you 100 G in RC’s.  The current cost of a comment is 1.6G, a vote. 0.15G and a transfer 0.83G

At these levels 50 SP in delegation will give you around 10 comments a day, or 100 votes a day or 18 transfers.

Meet Last weeks Delegates

I was hoping this section of the post would be a little curation of posts from those that have taken the course and received delegation.  From last weeks post we have one new delegatee.  I do hope you will check out their profile and show them some support

@paultarpan

@paultarpan joined steem in Oct 17.  With 1 post this week and nearly 40 comments and 73 upvotes given, @paultarpan shows that he is experienced on STEEM with is perfectly formatted post.  The life time post count is 84, so I am hoping to see a little more action from this account in the coming month.

Please do check out this weeks post from @paultarpan and show some steem love and support

I'm a newbie and I think this is really what I need! I'll finish my work, then I'll study it at home. I think this platform has a huge potential, but I still can't figure out how it works... Thanx so much for sharing your knowledge

great stuff, i look forward to seeing you in the course @iakuapunka

Paula,

I approve what you are doing but your post related to this giveaway actually scares people off who are new...

Your giving way to much information (it's overload and confusing to them). and second your using terms that someone does not even understand right out the gate.

The reason facebook succeeded is because every grandmother and aunt and uncle who wanted to look at pictures of the family and find out what was going on, could do it very easily, I would guess that 90% of the users don't care about the economics of facebook liking.

The reason twitter is able to be used by Trump and Swiping on dating apps work, is simplicity.........

First Pare it down to a few simple to understand bullet points...
(you can put links to other posts for more details)

And shorten it... Yea I know Rich the King of the long winded comment is telling another proliferic writer to shorten something down.

finally you used terms like "DM me on Udemy", with a masters degree have no Idea what that means... I'm guessing DM means "Direct Message" what is Udemy? If it's an external website then for a newbie that might be to much and if it is what's the extension....

I literally have two people I have onboarded recently and I can not give anything to them on this blockchain with out talking to them for a couple of hours first..... And then I get the phone calls late at night for a couple of weeks with the same questions......

SO I hope you will champion clear and concise and easily understandable help to these people....it will get them more active in the communities....

Thank you again for your onboarding efforts!

This is a great opportunity for newbies @paulag! I learned a lot from your course. Now I'm fighting to learn how to develop steem software

@randolass esto te interesa

no way, steem dev. how awesome. I was looking at some dev instructors on Udemy and wondering if I should contact them to make a course on steem dev. I think it would be good publisity for steem. but thats for another day, im very busy right now. what are you thinking of developing, or are you just learing first?

Nice. I'm a computer instructor since 25 years ago and I released my first Udemy course 1 month ago. But in Spanish. First of all I need learn in depth steem development. I'm in process to create a game (@radaquest)

This is very cool and another opportunity for new users to make some progress. Extra SP lets them be more a part of the community.

I did leave @paultarpan a comment saying he should rely less on voting bots. I prefer to see real community engagement.

I don't have much clear thought about curation rewards. I only know that If someone upvote on a post before it's age 30 minute he/she will not get the rewards.

It's really not worth worrying about unless you have many thousands of Steem. You can make a lot more by earning votes. Buying them is not that profitable. Wouldn't you rather have real people supporting you because they like what you do?

Hi, @steevec, I've seen more of these fultimebot comment upvotes recently but may have missed hearing how they work. Can you share or point me to an explanation of how they work? Thanks muchly in advance.

I never asked for those votes, but whoever controls the bots has decided to use them on my comments. There are various schemes that will give you votes, but I'm generally against paying for votes on specific posts. I'll delegate to some projects and buy SBI to support the community.

Thanks for your quick reply, @steevc. I know of three post upvoting programs including SBI but haven't seen anything on how these comment bots work.

Actually I was busy in last 2 years. I was unable to make a good relation to any community due to lack of time.

engagement is key to long term success on steem, im not a user of bots myself and also promote their non use. thanks for stopping by and for your support

You'll get more applicants as news spreads, @paulag. Your finetuning of the offer this week will also attract more interest too.

Great idea and implementation. I LOVE the fact that it's centered around the course educating newbies about STEEM. Will resteem again as I did last week's offer.

thank you so much for your support as always. Funny there are load taking the course, 30 signed up in the last week yet they are not applying so I thought I would tweek it a bit :-)

That's a good number, @paulag! And doubling the SP offered will surely get more eyes and fingers typing. ;)

This will grow as steadily as your Red Fish League and newer Minnow League and is another wonderful add-on to all you've been creating to strengthen and build the Redfish/Plankton and Minnow Steemian population. So happy to cheer you on always.

thanks for this post. I just forward it to my fb messanger group where i am trying to onboard new people. Hope they will read it and they learn.
I suggested also to follow your account just in case because maybe they can learn something that i forgot to share.
Thanks again😉

This post has been included in the latest edition of SoS Daily News - a digest of all the latest news on the Steem blockchain.

I own more than 200 SP in my account but I really wanna learn more about STEEM and the whole blockchain anyway. I'm okay with not getting the 50 SP delegation. Is there a way I can still be a part of this program?

you can still take the course for free for sure :-) Im happy for everyone to learn
