Today's Steem News includes news and updates about Radio Korea, Nutbox, World of Football, PLAY STEEM, the Newcomers Achievement Program, SteemFoods and the Where in the World is Steem mini-census, and many new contests...
1. Radio Korea
@radiokorea has had to temporarily suspend its program of radio advertising of Steemit due to rising costs.
Previous advertising costs of 2 million won (US$ 1770) have now risen to 3 million won (US$ 2650).
In the meantime it is working on a Steemit guide for new users, arranging a Korean Steem Meetup, and running a Steem Witness.
Has anyone tried any local radio advertising?

2. Nutbox Updates
@nutbox.mine reports that it now has approaching 5 million SP under delegation.
The APY (Annual Percentage Yield) for delegators is now 101.5%...

Nutbox also reports that Proposal 12 from @quyang-cd and Proposal 13 from @terry3t have both passed the community voting process to receive funding from @nutbox.dao for website and UI development work...
3. World of Football reaches 1000 Subscribers
The @worldoffootball Community, run by @njaywan, @theatrorve, @adeljose and @marcybetancourt, has announced that it has now reached 1000 subscribers...
The Community regularly hosts contests, for example it currently has a Football Biography contest that runs until 21 March...
4. PLAY STEEM iOS Review
Developer @etainclub has submitted the iOS PLAY STEEM test app to the App Store for review.
He is doubtful it will be accepted because of the policies against cryptocurrency reward apps...
Japan Country Representative @cryptokannon is testing PLAY STEEM...
5. The Newcomers Achievement Program
@belenguerra has posted an update on the Newcomers Achievement Program.
A total of 1,333 verified newcomers have participated in the program since last June. Of these 575 are still actively posting on Steem.
A 43% retention rate is quite impressive over this period of time, especially compared with a figure closer to 10% on old Steem 18 months ago...
The Achievement Program, together with the Greeter Fairy Team (@belenguerra, @adeljose, @besticofinder, @tocho2), the 500SP Minnowsupport Program (@fendit, @rex-sumon, @edlili24) and the Steemit Nursery Team (@cryptokannon, @belenguerra, @randulakoralage, @anasuleidy, @bright-obias) are all part of the Steem Greeters Project co-ordinated by @cryptokannon.
