Where in the World is Steem? #6 - Australia & New Zealand

Today we are looking at one of the sparser areas of the world for Steem.

Oceania, if that is a correctly used term, includes Australia, New Zealand as well as the island states of Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Samoa, Kiribati, Micronesia, Tonga, Marshall Islands, Palau, Tuvalu, and Nauru.

This region of the world has never been a major hub for Steem, although in the past there was quite a bouyant population in Australia.

It seems at the moment that New Zealand is the last outpost.

NEW ZEALAND & AUSTRALIA

As far as I know Steem has never had any representation in Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Samoa, Kiribati, Micronesia, Tonga, Marshall Islands, Palau, Tuvalu, and Nauru.

So for now Steem presence in Oceania will be focused on Australia and New Zealand.

In the past there was a quite active Steem population in Australia. There were regular meetups in Adelaide for example which helped retain in Australia an approximate 1 in 250,000 Steem population as opposed to the more common 1 in a million ratio found in most developed countries.

Now there seems to be almost no visible Steem activity in Australia.

Does anyone know of any active Steemians in the country?

At present Steem's representation in this part of the world is focused on the Country Representative in New Zealand, @kiwiscanfly.

There are a small number of active Steemians in New Zealand but currently there doesn't appear to be enough people to support a country community.

As well as being a Country Representative @kiwiscanfly also coordinates the monthly Steem Power UP SPUD4STEEM events.

Oceania is currently a 'quiet spot' for Steem.
