For now the software wallet is a CLI-only wallet that is mainly compiled in Linux. You can run Linux in a Virtual Machine with VMWare Workstation Player. Download an Ubuntu 14.04 or 16.04 iso, create a VM using it as the installation disk, and once it's all installed you can follow a guide like this one to get Steemd and the cli_wallet up and running. https://steemit.com/steemhelp/@joseph/mining-steem-for-dummies

If this is all too technical I'm afraid you'll have to wait. But anyone can do this, it's sometimes just a matter of patience and a willingness to learn.

Same question here a Godspeed

Thanks for the info, I will wait, not worth my few hours of time. I was kinda expecting a wallets available at launch.

Is there a wallet we can download and store in our computer?

It seems it has not yet arrived from the Universe, and I am waiting for the same soft as you.

@bobsunday, Is it the so called "active key" that you have in mind?

@bobsunday is there any way to mining steem

Oh I see... So that's what it is... Where do we get the memo though? I'm still new at this.

Good question, @peter-sustak. And the number of post views says exactly the same (without saying it out loud).

Freewallet.org has one but its obviously a scam like their other wallets.
