Confessions of a Conflicted SteemiansteemCreated with Sketch.

Part of me wants Steem to moon ASAP so I can retire even sooner than planned. Another part of me wants Steem to recover at least enough (maybe back to $3 or so?) so that Stinc can get through its current cash flow crisis to the point at least where SMT’s are back on @ned’s radar. And another part of me wants the price of Steem to drop like a rock for a while so I can can back up the truck and buy a metric buttload of it. And then moon, of course.

Conflicted wombats can want three different mutually-exclusive things simultaneously. Cognitive dissonance is a powerful tool.

I also want there to be more nodes, even though I have no idea how many there are right now. And even though I wouldn’t recognize a node if it snuck up behind me and bit my ass. And don’t start with me about specific kinds of nodes. If I wouldn’t recognize a node per se, why would I know full node versus witness node versus seed node? Cognitive dissonance is nothing compared to willful ignorance.

Conflicted and clueless is a dangerous combination. Yet I continue to convert fiat to Steem whenever I have spare quatloos. Perhaps I’m trying to determine which phrase better fits my conflicted thinking:

In for a penny, in for a pound.

or

A fool and his money are soon parted.

I wish I understood more of the technicals. I have endeavored to teach myself about blockchain since joining Steemit, but I am not a coder and probably never will be, so yeah - a node could be a one eyed, one horned, flying purple people eater node and I wouldn't know the difference.

Poor wombat! Okay, I had to laugh about a node biting your ass. In fact, I cannot stop laughing about that. I know what you mean, though. It's hard to know what to hope for! Mostly, though, I'm hoping for the moon. You can't really go wrong with that scenario.

I can relate to your thoughts! I see a passionate community which leads me to believe there is value being built and the only way I feel I can help due tobmy limited technical knowledge is to buy more and support engagement around the ecosystem.

More like in for a penny, in for a kilogram, am I right?

Pound sterling. 😏
