I have been seeing a lot of post that show that they have a lot of money from upvotes, but then see a line though it. When you hover over the dollar amount it says Payout denied.
Can someone shed some light on this?
Authors get paid when people like you upvote their post.

Not denied ... declined
It means the author has chosen not to accept payment for his/her post and is instead doing it for the benefit of the community.
It still shows the upvote value because curators are still rewarded for upvoting the post.
