I like your post. I keep thinking similar things about this topic... but I'm especially worried about how adults believe smartphone and social network addiction is a teenager phenomenon, when working adults have been obsessing about their work emails in the evening ever since the first Blackberry came out. Kids just emulate and extend what they already see in the prior generation.
