There are so many reasons why steem is still very very very undervalued and I'm going to start with the ones that people hardly notice or check out.
Most newbies in our crypto space get to know about coinmarketcap.com first before blocktivity.info and that makes them think the trending cryptocurrencies there are the best and that is very misleading if you are properly guided.
Don't get me wrong, coinmarketcap.com is not trying to deceive anybody, coinmarketcap.com was designed to list cryptocurrencies according to their market capitalization, the higher the market capitalization, the higher they will be placed on the market.
The sad thing is that, whether a cryptocurrency is Ponzi or not, as long as you have a good market cap, they will be on the top list, we once had bitcconnect among the too 10 coin on coinmarketcap.com with a price of about $400, now bitcconnect is not even up to $1.
Blockchain is the underlying technology for cryptocurrency, its better to look at what the Blockchain can do before investing, rather than looking at the market capitalization.
One website you should become familiar with is blocktivity.info. It tells what's happening in and with the Blockchain.
Sadly, the most active and stress-free Blockchain are highly undervalued and I'm just wondering and wishing if there will be a marketing department to market these blockchains to the world because these guys are really undervalued.
As you can see in the screenshot above, steem and bitshares have been bringing so much value and activity to the crypto space. they both handle about 70% of ALL transactions in the entire crypto space within the past 7 days.
But see the market capitalization of the most active and stress-free Blockchains below, they are very very low (undervalued).
They both don't even make up to 1% of the entire market capitalization, so much work, so little cap.
This is one of the reasons why I'll keep getting more steem and bitshares.
Cryptocurrencies and Blockchains are gaining massive adoption and the world love speem wth no transaction fee and that's where steem comes into play.
That's why i invested in both of them.

As right as you are, activity still isn't enough to determine which crypto-service is the best. The value the investor want stand supreme.
What actually drove up the market capitalization of most coins on the top coinmarketcap is the nvestors money, they saw steem and preferred another instead.
Steem is undervalued, nevertheless, investors know about it. They just can not see yet, what it has to offer them because of the seemingly blog-oriented nature and less broad architecture.
Have you wondered why eos is at the top of the coinmarketcap list, it is because it advertised itself as a broad software system that can accommodate almost any internet invention.
Although steem is headed towards that direction too but then, there is less info, sparse documentation and less investor friendly enlightenment. If steem achieves all that, steem will rock greatly. SMT is the reason some new companies are moving in, yet the news update is weak. So, it is still frustrating.
Also, I feel steem's weakness and strength is in its diversity. Steem is a fund raising platform, that is the way I see it. It has blessed people with 50 million dollars plus in just two years. Yet, it is still being advertised as a blogging platform. At that, I really think there should be a clear explanation and marketing (like you said) as to what steem can do, at the same time, there should be a more steem-oriented marketing rather than a Steemit-oriented enlightenment. I think the blockchain is stranded. Steem is a powerful tech that can be tweaked to perform wonders.
If I am an investor, I will want to invest in
a multi-functional product.
I hope I made a point.

Thank you, I've always wanted to remember blockitivity since you mentioned it in Ibadan meet-up, thank God you revisit the topic.
People are after the popular names like bitcoin and not the real deal... Steem and bitshare are the real deal..
Thanks boss
