Sometimes it can feel disappointing when you wake up, check CoinMarketCap and find that STEEM is in the red. It can make you sad to think that the good old days of $8 STEEM may never return. However, there is still good news to keep us going!

The last time the price was at this level was April 24th. You may be thinking, "Oh no! Two weeks of progress are gone! We are back where we started!". That's not exactly true. Although the price is the same, the market capitalization is higher. The market cap is the price multiplied by the number of STEEM. In fact, compared to two weeks ago we have 13 million more STEEM. Even though the price is the same, we have $67 million more in the ecosystem.

Some comparisons. The last time we had a price over $5 was January 31st. If we had this many STEEM back then, the price would have dropped from $5.15 to $4.53. The last time STEEM was over $8 was January 3rd. If we had this many coins back then, the price would have dropped from $8.03 to $6.31!

Even if the price isn't going up today, you can feel better knowing that we are making progress. Each additional STEEM we create means more users and more opportunities. If we can maintain the price while growing the platform then we are winning the battle!
