I remember a social media platform I was using until a while ago, called something like facebook or so.. Can't really remember since I joined steem.
Just logged in there moments ago and wondered 'what am I doing here'? I only use fb for marketing purposes for my company or projects, thats all its useful for. Sometimes organising events ;) My private activity on fb went down years ago already, there are much better ways to communicate with friends.
To some degree this counts for twitter, instagram etc. too.
Just a little thought while coding on steem stuff ;)

One thing about Facebook is on your page, Facebook limits post reach so less people see your posts, and you have to pay for more people to see your posts which is stupid if you ask me. Back in the summer of 2014, Facebook required people to download messenger to see your messages. And they released a very annoying update where if someone comments on your post, the notifications pops on your screen like a message ( on desktop) Facebook just makes it self worse each time.

The worst thing is now that they force you to download the messenger app just to read your facebook messages on your phone!! Basically the only reason I used it.

I really don't get why companies would tell their customers to go visit their facebook page as opposed to their own website. Is this down to the data that the company can then purchase on that customer from Facebook?

I think this speaks for all of us. That's why I started the initiative to attract more and more people from Facebook to Steemit, basically "stealing" the Facebook users.
