Coinpayments.net Integration with Steem/Steem Dollars Wallet Back Online

in steem •  7 years ago  (edited)

For what seemed like an eternity, although only ended up being two months, the Coinpayments.net wallet was down for virtually on Steem and Steem Dollars. I am not sure at all what the issue ended up being since there was no Hardfork or major changes that I know of that might have caused this integration to go down.

It just so happened to go down soon after the pre-orders for the Steem Silver Round went live. While the wallet was undergoing maintenance, a new solution had to be created, which is always fine with me, but the Coinpayment.net interface has been extremely easy to use.

If businesses are looking to accept cryptocurrency for an online store or at a brick and mortar shop, I recommend giving them a look. They current accept over 500 cryptocurrencies and you can convert a good portion of them to BTC automatically. You don't even need to set up an address for every account you want to accept cryptos on immediately. Sending from your Coinpayments.net wallet to another address is simple and easy!

They have plug-ins for many of the most popular e-commerce sites like Wordpress (WooCommerce), Magento, Shopify, and more. The wordpress plug-in that they built for WooCommerce for Wordpress sites was extremely easy to take live as it only took 10-15 minutes to take it to a live site.

I have heard Coinbase is also working on a new product for merchants, which I suspect will be easy to use if it is anything like Coinbase.com, but I will give Coinpayment.net two thumbs up!

I have been thinking recently that for mainstream adoption to occur cryptos are going to have to make some changes to the way things get done. It seems like it is going to be difficult for everyday people to adopt the technology when they are having to send a string of characters that is 15-40 characters long. I am not sure if a conversion to a number or unique name will be easier or if that is even possible. I do believe that eventually most transactions, both financial and non-financial, will occur on the blockchain due to its transparency and decentralized nature, but we are still a few years away from that.
