Declaration of Steem Independence

in steem •  7 years ago  (edited)

WHEN, in the course of blockchain events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the social media bonds that tie thee down, they shall declare their justifications which led them to divorce thy predecessors. A separation through bloodshed is disgraceful and immoral, and thus the separation must occur through peaceful revolution.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all users are created equal, that they are endowed by the blockchain with certain unalienable rights. Among these rights are life, liberty, and the pursuit of upvotes. To secure these rights, witnesses are instituted amongst Steemians, deriving their powers from the delegation of thine stakeholders.

If ever any witness may become destructive to these rights, it is the duty of Steemians to remove said witness, and institute new governance. Laying Steem’s foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, shall seem most likely to cultivate a peaceful revolution in social media.

As said cultivation takes hold, thy adversaries will be threatened. Thou must remain vigilant to endure the assaults which shall be brought upon us.

When a power becomes a tool for spying, a pimp for information, and makes unpaid servants of its content creators, the prudent must cast aside said power. Thou must construct a new paradigm through which users are remunerated for their services.

We, the Representatives of Steem, do therefore publish and declare our independence from what the world knows as social media.

Excellent. I was disappointed though not to see a list of grievances ;)

Thou grivances were there, but perhaps incomplete ;)

When a power becomes a tool for spying, a pimp for information, and makes unpaid servants of its content creators, the prudent must cast aside said power.

Verily thou speaketh the truth! Let thine heart be comforted by the fact that I did cast said votes wisely for 30 of said witnesses. Some no doubt will surely be headed for the stock if trust be not true in them! Lmao!

My heart is at peace. Thou hath done stupendous work lad.

Amen to that! This should be in the steemit registration process lol

Haha I tried but no dice.

I love it. Should be the declaration of independence sent to mind control all over the world. lol

Bravoooo!!!!... 10 10 10 10... Steem On babyyyy!!!

In Elvis voice "Thank ya. Thank ya. Thank ya very much."

To distance themselves from social media is the perfect solution. Only in our age it is very difficult to achieve complete independence from anything. There are many users, who are accustomed to a certain way of presenting their views. And always harder to relearn, than to learn new.

No wonder in Japan, large corporations took on work graduates of institutions in the non-core specialty, then to teach them a fresh brain.
Good luck, Steemit!!

Thou shalt demand No content creation without representation!

Hahahahaha=))))

signed for prosperity.
@jesse2you

Thank you. Thou must get the other delegates on board.

Too damn good not to upvote and share!
Someone had a lot of time in their hands today!!!😂

Thanks for the share. What a fine young chap you are.

We the people by the people and for the people.

No curation without representation!

One word! EPIC!

Thank you, good sir.

Steemit is full independent blogging!

No more unpaid content servants!

Nice...To understand this, I read...read again. Now I got the content meaning. Thank you for this posting! :)

It would be difficult for non-native English speakers to understand. To hopefully give you more context, the inspiration for this came from @ned's Steem Independence day post. It was modeled after the United States' Declaration of Independence.

And what a marvelously appropriate day to declare independence, on the first anniversary of Steemit's institution of rewarding contributors for their efforts!
