this is my response...
My benefit is to play catch up in the 21st century in regards to blockchain, and technology in general. I'm not a wealthy man so I have nothing to offer this place except my perspective. If the platform has use cases that are beneficial and lend themselves towards symbiosis and leveling the economic playing field that is global politics it will survive beyond my current negative opinions.
If it can build relationships that extend beyond a screen and some numbers that dictate how powerful or persuasive one is it will in time.
I think everyone here needs to take a step back and realise Rome wasn't built in a day. What is being attempted here is in its infancy and there will surely be crashing and burning.
If there are those that truly believe in this potential then they will not be shaken by failure and will focus on rebuilding.
That will also take capital though, so it seems that while I don't philosophically agree with how many choose to participate here they might have higher aspirations and a bigger picture in mind.
Comparing stealing from a rewards pool of bullshit currency with little to no real world applications or evaluations in contrast to Wall Street and the banksters to rape and murder is preposterous. (the argument against my if u can't beat them join them realisations)
Two people on earth have more combined wealth than the entirety of crypto so enjoy the ride it's going to get way more bumpy.
Maybe I'm just training the adept for the resistance they will face out there in the real world? That's also beneficial as is my honesty and decidedly blunt approach.. Destruction is not separate from creation. Om namah Shivaya Transcend the FUD and know there will be more obstinate pricks than myself tearing this vision down that will in fact be nefarious whereas I'm just here for the attention 😁

Just like the entire crypto market waits with baited breath to see if the Lightning Network is Proof of Work's answer to scalability, so too will STEEM's longevity depend on the promise of a rocksDB HF witness node which runs on at least as little as 64GB of RAM.
At times like this it helps me to consider that steemit.com, busy.org, et al, are just dApps on the STEEM blockchain, which is one of the fastest, most robust and lowest transaction fees of any blockchain. It helps to bring things into perspective for me.

True indeed, @novacadian, I read the other day that the rocksDB project is moving along at a reasonable pace and might reach completion by the end of February... So in all this commotion and hoo haa progress is being made. One step at a time right?! Scalability is critical for survival and to think a few months ago I didn't really know what a blockchain was or that dapps existed..
I was thrown into this world of coders, devs, and hardforking hard working people with only the information I found contained on this blockchain and it's users to assist me in my edification..
So, despite all the abysmal trappings it's proved to be a repository of pertinent information I feel any citizen of this era should be interested in.
Also, thx for the feedback on my post the other day about a FAQ and what to do about passing the crypto to the next generation. If I ever have stuff to pass down I'll likely do the same..

Yeah my feeling is the Overlord's publicity is positive publicity. It has shown to any popular content creator, which may currently (or in the future) being censored, that there is a home for them from which to link out into other platforms. Eyes will then follow them. It had always been, and always should be in my opinion, about the content.

I appreciate your engagement as everyone’s perspectives should be taken into consideration; especially accounts like yours that actively engage and from my perspective add value given that those are the majority of the community. If we do not consider them, where will the growth come from, right? I agree with the fact that sometimes projects have to “get back to the drawing board.”. However, I understand that emotions from those whom have invested time and/or money here to be heard as well. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Thank you for seeing value in my perspective, and for the recognition of mine and others engagement that can be easily overlooked for whatever reasons. Namely, the pedestal placed on numerical values of meaningless rep scores and the motivation for monetization.
I too can empathize with those that have put their blood, sweat, tears, and money into this platform. One of the beautiful benefits of the blockchain is that even the failed, abandoned, or misguided projects have there place and are forever imprinted here for research or evolutionary purposes.
The world of finance is far from fair or compassionate and while steem doesn't have to be all about money, it is a core focus and the driving force here. So, it stands to reason there will be winners and losers in this no risk no reward game.
So far as I can tell and knowing the stats this community is very small and the slices of pie have turned into crumbs. Baking new pies requires more than just bakers, we need ingredients, farmers, harvesters, ovens, and of course the ever evolving and elusive customers to eat said pies in the sky with whip cream and cherries on top.
I hope my analogy is not lost, basically what I'm saying is there are too many cooks in the kitchen here and the power bill at the bakery is in default and the bank doesn't see much benefits in giving another loan out to a company that has no business sense, liking pie is not enough to keep the lights on..
