[health/video/homemade/]
hi I'm dr. ruby welcome to the veggie
chest where healthy eating is easy and
delicious and if you've been watching
these episodes you know we're all about
healthy whole plant-based foods and one
of the things we're going to make today
is really simple it's a salad dressing a
lot of times I haven't been able to find
a really good dressing that I like that
doesn't have a lot of things in there
that I don't want so I just came up with
this one day because I wanted a really
good tasting salad dressing that had
some healthy stuff in it but tasted
great so we're going to start first with
about two and a half cloves of crushed
garlic so I'm just going to go ahead and
crush that in there great then we're
going to have the juice of a lemon so
let's just put that in our and squeeze
away now lemon is a excellent and garlic
excellent antioxidants excellent um
immune boosters both of these are so if
you fill in a little sick you want to
include both of those in your in your
diet as much as possible just put some
lemon in water or have the salad
dressing or squeeze some lemon over your
salad all right so we've got that there
now we're going to add about two
tablespoons of olive oil and two
tablespoons of hemp oil or flax seed oil
this is flax seed oil but either of
those are great adds a great boost of
omega fatty acids to this dressing then
we're going to add about a teaspoon of
apple cider vinegar another excellent
immune booster it's it's you know it's
vinegar it's it's alkaline when you
digest it so it's something that helps
get your body in a nice alkaline state
and then we're going to add some
nutritional yeast this adds a little
creaminess to it so about two teaspoons
to two tablespoons of that
and then about a teaspoon of sea salt we
always want to use sea salt no white
salt your salt should either pink black
or grave two Himalayan salt or sea salt
okay and then we're going to add a
little bit of cracked pepper this smells
great already and then we just whisk
this right up now you can put this in
your blender if you wanted to really get
it well I multiplied but this works just
as well less to clean up and it's really
easy so this is my what I call my lemon
garlic dressing because those are the
two things that stand out the most and
this dressing you see it's nice and
creamy and add this a tad more
nutritional yeast if you want it
creamier smells delicious all right and
we are done so all I have to do now is
just going to marinate my salad with it
let me just bring that over just pour
some on you don't need a lot you don't
eat at all just pour a little on and
then you mix a nice simple salad to
accompany any any meal if you're having
soup and salad this is a great dressing
to take and make enough you can bottle
it up and keep it in your fridge for
several days a week or so and it tastes
great if since it's got the hemp and
flax or flax seed oil you want to kind
of keep it refrigerated though so there
you have now a really healthy delicious
salad dressing that you can whip up
whenever you need so I hope you enjoyed
this episode of the veggie chest where
healthy eating is easy and delicious
