Steemerica 2019 - The Steem Conference of the Americas - Details Coming Soon!

in steem •  6 years ago  (edited)

It's time we had a major Steem Conference in the Americas.

Plans are being made for late spring of 2019.

We're thinking around June, in Colorado.

The goal is to avoid school seasons and centrally locate the event for ease of travel from South America, USA and Canada.

Watch this blog for rapidly developing details!

Steemerica is being organized by @SirCork with the @NobleWitness team

Not sure I'd go to Colorado again. Kentucky would be better.

You guys don't like the mountains? Rude.

I'm in favor of anything east coast.

I’m in Kentucky. We have bourbon. ;)

Honestly, Cincinnati is a good choice. Pretty much in the middle of everything. Has an international airport, and lots of highway running through it.

Let's make Steem great again!

Colorado would be awesome. I would be there for sure. That is only like a 4-6 hour drive depending where you have it there. I haven't been to CO in a while either. It will be cool to go there and get some new pictures.

How does Colorado Springs, grab ya?

I live in Boulder so I would prefer up here. But regardless I will be there

Yay!!! Looking forward to it!

Yes. Yes!

This is excellent. This is what I wanted this year, and I'm glad we finally get to do it. I'm all in behind this, and I'll provide whatever support I can to make this a reality.

GREAT idea resteemed

Which guys? Noblewitness? Steemians? People in Colorado?

Thought this question was sarcasm for a minute but...

Checked your blog.. see you are new.

Well, who @noblewitness is, myself, @SirCork, @RhondaK, @Gmuxx and @Anarcho-Andrei.

It would take explaining a cumulative 7 years of steeming and building communities, running witnesses, creating new steem blockchain interfaces and tools and founding steem based charities on the chain to explain. But stick around. You'll start to see things like the @YouAreHOPE Foundation, @thewritersblock, @tarc, and about a dozen other communities, projects, sites and tools that we created or contributed to for the platform. Between us, we have logged thousands of hours streaming on the platforms prominent outlets predating dtube and dlive even existing. I built MSP Waves for PAL/Minnowsupport, and then built the SteemStar Network, both of which cumulatively have had around 100+ unique shows and show hosts with Waves still running 24/7 in it's second year and steemstar now converted to different project and no longer broadcasting after 11 months on the air round the clock. Our charities have served thousands of people all over the world with the help of steemians all over the globe and hundreds of animals on the east coast of the USA respectively.

Nice to meet you new guy, who are you? :D

Nevermind, I was just wondering who is behind this project but if you call me new guy after 1.4 years of being a Steem member I probably don't want to go there anyways. Good luck with building this community!

I read it as June 2018.. but I will admit, I'm in nearly 70 communities, and I've never seen you anywhere in them or at either of the prominent steem based radio networks over the past two years, or anywhere really. There are only 45-50K users logging in daily and across those locations, in some groups up to 15K members in size, we see most of you, never seen you though. The fairly newish rep didn't help add clues, sorry?

Why are you talking about me being around communities or not? That isn't the point and I never said something that I'm some how big envolved in any of those groups. So why are you telling me that?
My only point was why I asked you who you are? Because you didn't write anything about yourself in that post. And in my opinion when somebody wants to promote an America Meeting it would be wise to explain who you guys are.
Thats it and nothing more... but since your behaviour exposed your big Ego to me that information really tells a lot ...thank you!!!

I think the ego problem here is on somebody who isnt aware of who the top 100 witnesses are that make the platform exist, in an environment where it's difficult to find anyone who doesn't know who they are... and who barges on to a page with an arrogant question and gets an answer, and still acts like a pompous know it all. Point being a year and a half and a rep most people get in a month or two of activity, no appearance anywhere on the platform in places successful people and pretty much ALL users who aren't lost here are already aware of each other, and carrying on as if your completely informed and we are the ones remiss?

yeah, think that through.

Ah makes sense now... You don't know who many of the 50K active people are, nor they you.

Lol you just dont give up with your big Ego. I never said something about my rep, followers or anything in this direction. But if you just want to kick a minnows bud than I don't know what role you see yourself in being a witness.

Grasping for attention thats all you do in our communication. And if you feel confronted by the question who you are than this is not my problem.
And also your argument about the reputation score is not really strong since you can buy yourself a good rep with the help of bots, which I don't do.
But for the sake of Steem in this community I don't want to offend a witness for the work they do for this blockchain and I give you props for that. But getting upset about a minnow like me is really something you should think about.

Which is it? minnow or long time steemian? Instructions unclear...

sounds cool @sircork I am sure it's gonna be great, maybe my life will let me go :)

Hope so!

i got lucky i think being allowed to go to Poland, maybe my luck has changed

This is good, there has been a lot of whining and attacking of @roelandp for not doing Steemfest in America this year, even though he himself is European.

Good to see someone actually taking the initiative and doing their own event.

Good luck with it all! :-)

Agree, it's time we had one over here, where our side of the planet can afford to attend, in a dipped out price curve.

Yesssss, definitely stick with Colorado! 😄🎉
