Lets hope the legitimately elected witnesses do a hard fork and most of the community will follow.
Every top 20 witness will need to run a full node, but this is now economically possible because of MIRA.
Hopefully this will lead to a properly decentralised Steem where this can't happen again.

Forking the whole thing is a last resort, but Steemit/Tron are not making many friends right now. I don't really give a shit about their business, but I want this platform and community to continue somehow. We may be small, but we have something worth saving.

This set back may be what we need to take a giant step forward.
and the sad thing is, all we can do is watch.

However, Mr. Tron has shown is mighty hand.
The velvet glove has come off of the iron fist.

Now, all of the exchanges just locked all of their STEEM. They can no longer do what an exchange is supposed to do. This is going to have serious ramifications. On both sides.

And, no matter how good Mr. Tron's intentions were, he will never live this power play down. However, it will be a few years before that whirlwind is reaped.

i do not know what to hope for. Ted wasn't doing a great job. The core developers were developing in a bubble with no feedback. But it is a group that we knew. Now we have a dictator that we don't know.

Things are looking baaaad... time to power down?

It's too soon to tell. Depends on how much you need the money, but I guess many will start it anyway just in case.

Yeah that might be wise. I think I'll just go die-hard and stick till the end even if it rekts me.

Me2 @fenngen
I also dont have q lot of money invested

I don't have a lot of money either, though enough for living a few months. Either way I'll just wait and if Steem Classic becomes a reality move it all over there.

ye me2.

Makes sense to me, to monitor for a while before taking an emotional decision. It's going to be a bumpy week with lots of ups and downs. Let's see how it looks in a week or so.

Wait, what were you expecting? That Steemit was just going to lie down and be fucked?

It was a risk, but they could have negotiated. The way they described the soft fork is misleading.

Stinc were shitting bricks too and played their card from their big fat wallet.
People are shutting down dapps and stuff and I can't help but see them as bullies that got bullied by a bigger bully.
How can you shut down your dapp because a bigger player came in and ousted you? Isn't this the time to stand up and be counted? Isn't this the time to improve your shit and ensure nobody looks Steemit's way?
Every where I turn it's people saying "goodbye" Steem and all that shit and I find it pathetic. Pathetic because it's Steem blockchain but also a social network; all the friends, connections, communities etc just wiped away because Sun bought a lot of stakes?

The solution is to fork, not shut down DApps.

disheartening to say the least..

Indeed, I think the initial response to the soft fork and then this new response are very different. Almost like they are coming from two completely different people. I don't quite understand it all yet.

I had mixed feelings about the softfork, but this latest move is just plain wrong. Have no idea what will come out of this, guess I'll sit on the sidelines and watch the show.

Looks like they managed to crash things, so they are not showing much competence. This will not help confidence in the platform.
