why i think steemit is a scam

in steem •  8 years ago  (edited)

Whether i get upvoted or downvoted i dont really care, share what i say with others and dont trust anything you here or read.So we have here a forum where everyone gets paid from whales, and who are the whales, those who made the forum and their friends. And why they could not make numerous accounts themselves and vote themselves again and again, can someone explain this to me.Why they should give money to the others. if i have 5-6 whale friends and they tell me to join in this forum from my first post i will make money when others better than me will get nothing.

I have seen others with hundrend posts get nothing and others with ridiculous subjects ,like how to draw an ear or a stupid poem,or how to cook in india get 1000 dollars or more from their first post, its smells like a scam already. And what about people who have 50 posts and dont get nothing from the time they get authored from someone else they get 300-400 dollars at once, probably they get value instantly:).
Anyway dont waste your time in here to make others rich they are fooling you.And what about the steem price why those who made the forum are selling, its the new facebook you are told, yes it will rise again after it goes to zero:)
Think of what i said and dont believe everything you are told
Please comment if you have an argument to persuade me or others who will read this post

They are fixing the issue with the whales controlling everything. So I guess it is a step in the right direction.

Overall this is a pretty innovative platform that they are creating, nobody has done something like this before. So you can't expect them to have this down perfect on the first try, since they don't have anything to base this on. And I am glad that the starting people are making money of this, if it were not for their effort, we would not have this site today.

Have you ever tried launching a site, community or any kind of business? Let's just say it is a lot harder to make it successful than people think. So the fact that they have gotten this far, and random people get paid is fucking amazing and I applaud the original founders :)

i saw this post, the forum will get value only if there are not whales,if the whales have fewer posts they will vote with these votes themselves in other accounts,or their friends

I agree that it would make it more fair , but its kinda unreasonable to expect someone to rip up the whole infrastructure of the site in a short period and screw over the people that were not founders but committed to the project early on and ranked up in steam power. So the simple fact that they are cutting down slowly is a good start, and I am sure as the community grows the power will be distributed more.

it is a testament to lazy thinking and poor planning.
I'm here for thesame reason everybody esle is. But I do not expect this scheme to be self-sustaining. The originators may be fantastic code writers and good guys, but are certainly not economic geniuses.
The payouts will one day amount to only pennies for each, at which time the most active members will be pulling in maybe $50 a month at best.

I agree with that part lol that if this were the size of "reddit" the $27k or w/e that is distributed daily would not be much haha. But still could be a novel community, and maybe they can implement other sources or revenue and do ads like reddit. So that more users can get paid if it gets to that point.

Υes,thats the point who are the random people paid,do you know if they are random or not the same with different accounts

a couple weeks ago, a bunch of whales began making extra accounts and divvying their loot up amongst them.

Please, let me clear out what a social network is NOT:

  1. It's not a place where you get rewarded based on the quality of your content
  2. It's not a place where everyone can earn equally
  3. It's like any "society".

You get paid for the relevance of your own profile. That said, on Steemit it's actually pretty easy to get seen and I think it's not a scam for that. A scam is something that doesn't work, not something that doesn't work properly.

We can argue about who earns the most and the power of the whales, but they got what the users wanted them to got. The value of a post is individually calculated and "how to draw an ear" is more interesting, for example - in my opinion - then "How to live in Pakistan". Simply because from a user point of view, I want to draw a ear, I don't want to live in Pakistan.

Everyone has different tastes and, based on how much of your audience you can gather, you earn. Everything is based on that concept, because traffic and interest are money. Especially in a social network.

Anyway, your point about the voting power is cool and I think they're solving it :)

The account name is kinda ironic. :P

no i didht have this name for ironi

I mostly agree with you. A lot of junk gets a lot of money. The wealth has to be spread around better.

The way I see it, the whales vote between themselves, occasionally throwing a bone to the newbies.

If you look at that account, h e gets $300-$400 everyday for that lol

Well, it looks like steem is feeding on itself. Write about steem and make money.

Try to write something like this, then you'll understand... Maybe.
Hint: He is providing useful data in human readable format.

If you believe that is quality content that deserves to get paid $300 - $400 a post for copy pasting stats each day. Than you are out of your mind.
